ski pylon vs.ski eye(tow cleat on i/o)

how high is a ski pylon? what benefit do you have with a pylon compared to the ski eye (obviously a pylon is further up toward the front of the boat)thanks 4 the info your a big help

If I understand you question, a ski pylon toward the middle of the boat will aid in pulling the skier out of the water (the bow will not ride as much offering a quicker pull out) and will also not let the skier pull the boat around as much if you were pulling from the back of the boat.

Eh, I'd guess the pylon is roughly 3.5 feet high..ish?

JT is right, a strong skier on the tow eye would yank the boat all over the place. There is no way I could keep the boat down the middle of the boat guides if my brother was on the tow eye.

also what about weight in the front of the boatwould that help with stabilizing the boat

They are designed to improves control, ride and performance. Get up on plane faster, and eliminate cavitation and porpoising. My Dad put one on a boat with a 50 hp. and it definitely helped with the planing aspect, I'm not sure about the other stuff. To your other question about weight in the front of the boat, that might also help with planing the boat, hwoever won't do anything for stabilizing. If you are having issues with bow rise, I would look at the whaletail.
