Whats up with Wake Space???

I never usually read the header at the top of the page but I just noticed it reads WakeSpace and not WakeWorld. Did I just never see this before or is it a recent change? I want my WakeWorld back!!!

Go to wakespace.com - it takes you to the discussion board here. I saw some sort of ad from Boarders Paradise saying Wakespace.com Coming Soon... I just can't remember where I saw it.

Wakeworld was the perfect name, I would rock the sticker on my truck if I had one and im very picky about what I put on, its usually almost all one of a kind stickers, but wakespace HELL NO!!!

As many of you know, we are currently redesigning WakeWorld. Part of the redesign plan includes renaming and moving our discussion board to a new community website with many other features such as the ability for users to set up their own "space" and upload pictures and video. The name we selected for this is WakeSpace. We procured the WakeSpace.com domain name a year ago when we started planning.

In order to begin this transition, we renamed this discussion board WakeSpace. We are marketing and advertising this board by that name and we are using the domain name in order to direct viewers to this board. In the coming months, we will transition to the website www.wakespace.com, described above. We know that some of you find the name change unsettling but we have sound business and legal reasons for starting this transition now, including building name recognition and goodwill for the WakeSpace tradename.

Some of you noticed a similar website that might be under construction. We will not comment on that site. We will state that WakeWorld’s plan to restructure its website and rename its discussion board was long in the making.

Don't fear the change because we will make it as seamless as possible and you will not lose out on anything! So continue to enjoy your WakeSpace!

WakeWorld will be getting a facelift, but it's not going anywhere and it's not getting a name change. Don't read too much into this. It's simply an effort to upgrade WakeWorld and recreate the discussion board/community into something even better. I know what y'all like and I'm bringing it to you!

Again, you have nothing to worry about. There will be no change in advertising since we already have advertising on the discussion board and the main section of WakeWorld. The sites will still be closely tied together. Other than added features, better content and more interaction, you shouldn't notice much change.

No, it is spelled y'all. Y'all is a contraction for "you all." There is no "a" in "you." Spelling it ya'll doesn't make a whole lot of sense. Shakespeare used the word from time to time. Back then it was a perfectly acceptable contraction just like "can't" is today but nowadays it's mostly relegated to the South and even then primarily when speaking, not writing. In my opinion, it's far better than the Northern equivalent: yous guys.

Am I just not explaining this right or what??? WakeWorld isn't going anywhere!!! WakeSpace will be the name of the new "community" website that will go hand in hand with WakeWorld. We simply renamed the current "community" portion of our website to WakeSpace to begin the transition.

Actually, most users will have to move out of state and, in most cases, not only will you have to change your user name, but you'll also have to change your legal name and your mother's maiden name! Passwords will no longer be used because you'll be required to buy one of those retina scanners and hook it up to your computer. We're serious about security here at WakeWorld!
