Andy's X-Star vs. Jay's? Who has the biggest wake in MN?
Old     (ironj32)      Join Date: Jan 2007       12-29-2008, 3:43 PM Reply
hahahahah...i think there are others that have the potential to be larger, i.e. picklefork xstars w/ pro-tour ballast setup.

Well...take out the white and orange No Style Productions boat and I think it is between you two. How much are you running now and what do you plan on adding for next season? Are you going to break the 5000# barrier? I am switching over to Fly High sacs for this season.

i'm actually just going to be replacing a bag or two...got a few pin holes at the end of this season in an ancient bag. i haven't decided what exactly i'm going to get yet, but i have it narrowed down. it'll be right around 4500 lbs.

i would totally switch to the Fly High Pro-X's if i were you...very user friendly and durable!

although, i spose if i through a sac on the rear seat it would be just over 5k.

Wow I have never experienced a wake anything CLOSE to that. Still something to wake for. :-)

Eder have fun! Ice fishing tomorrow for me at Bimidji.

I used to have Launch pad sacs and they really were not good in comparison to Fly High. I bet the new Sumo Sacs are more comparable.

I don't get what everyone is crying about. I'm still boarding. Here's a couple shots from New Year's Day on the Minnesota river. We had open water about the size of a football field and just went around in circles.

Eder, you're still a punk! :-P

Barely. They had to break up the ice and then break a path through it for about 100 yards before there was open water. We slid off the ice up river, went around in circles and then slid back onto the ice when our run was done. I barely got wet. Sliding over ice chunks is an experience.

Gearing up for the Boat Show, spinner boat will be the new X-14V, we're gonna have 12 boats in all plus the entire pro shop.

Advertising for the show is pretty much unheard of as usual so please tell anyone and everyone who might want to attend!!!

I just got home from a snowboard trip in Keystone and all it did was make me wanna wakeboard. Dont get me wrong, it was awesome and their park was so f'ing fun but theres still nothing like a 80 degree day on the boat with nothing but glass and good friends pushing eachother to go big. CAN'T WAIT FOR SUMMER! Andy, I love the idea of a MN D-UP contest! Make it happen!

Yeah dude when i was out there a few weeks ago i was thinking the exact same thing. Just cant wait for summer to get here. Theres nothing like being out on the water. And plus the ladies arent usually all bundled up

Anthony, did Keystone get the same powder Breck did? I was riding in knee to waist deep Wed-Friday...it was effortless to find untouched snow in the trees.
Old     (megatmoe)      Join Date: Jul 2007       01-11-2009, 8:42 PM Reply
I was there Dec 28-Jan 3 and it didnt snow once. I stayed in the park the whole time. I missed the powder that you got. I got a crazy deal though. There were 3 of us and it only cost us $600 each total for 6 nights in a condo walking distance to the lifts, 5 day lift tickets good at Vail, Breck, A-Basin and Keystone, and a rental car I got through work. Oh and only $60 in gas to get there! F%#@ flying! The whole vacation cost just as much as one plane ticket! I want to road trip it out there again...anyone else down?

I am heading out again in mid March. My brother used to live out in Breck, I have a place to stay and I ride for free. It took around $100 to get there in my Explorer, but still thats nothing. There were highway partol everywhere in Nebraska...I wish I could go 120 mph through that horrible state. I only got pulled over once, haha. I was on my twin tips the whole time since one of my buddies boards got jacked, I let him rock the Burton Hero. It snowed 5 out 6 days and the day it didn't snow I was at Vail in 42 degrees with nothing but sun. Just ripped up Blue Sky Basin all day! I would move out there in a heartbeat if they had tons of lakes to wakeboard on...

I love road trippin, my wife and I usually head to Summit County or to Bridger Montana. This year we have to nix the trip due to some other things we cooking, I don't know how I'm gonna make it through the winter without a trip west!!!
Old     (amark)      Join Date: Nov 2008       01-12-2009, 1:33 PM Reply
Yeah Nebraska had tons of patrol cars when we drove through on our way home. Dec.26 - Jan 3. They even had some check point. We saw signs set up for about half a mile that said "drug dog in use" and there were cops everywhere. not sure what they were doing since we exited right before it and took a detour. But it sure seemed they were cracking down on people this year. Last year we only saw like 1 state patrol and it was the one that got us. go figure... We deffinatly missed the snow by a week, sounds like you guys got some of the best skiing yet this year. Lucky you!! Anthony Moe when you thinkin of road tripping back out there?
Does anyone know what the wakeboard scene is like out there during the summer? Cause it sure would be a sweet place to live if you could wakeboard enough.

Mark, Im down to go whenever! Sometime in late Feb would be best. Im supposed to go riding in Utah at the end of March but its gonna cost way too much money to fly and that drive is death! I have alot of friends out there so I get to stay for free and get the use of a vehicle but I dont wanna fly to SLC for $500-$600 and I dont wanna drive 20hrs by my damn self.

I might be down to go over my spring break.. Im not sure when that is tho, i think its like sometime in Feb or March..

it's not wakeboarding news, but it has to do with Minnesota (it's wakeboarding influenced too). check out the profiles for HO's Pro Wake Skier's. not only do they rip on the wake ski's, both Chad and Pete can shred on a wakeboard too (not to mention everything else that you can pull behind a boat). just thought i'd share some MN success stories.

Congrats to Pete and Chad! Both pretty cool guys, I'm convinced you could throw a rusy car rim in the water and they would figure out how to shred it.

Corey, you guys always have the sweetest setup at the show, nice work. I stopped by for a while tonight and checked out the 09 line and scoped some wake surfers. Very impressive! You were showing customers the X1 and I didn't want to interrupt you. Hopefully it is a good week for the shop. It seemed more crowded for the first day then in the years past...

Thanks for the props man, sorry I missed you. I thought it was a pretty good turn out too, its always a little hit and miss but so far signs are good and it looks like there will definitally be some new MC's around the state this year!

Man I am so torn with surfers right now, i just sold my Phase 5 Oogle and now I can't decide what to get. I'm kind of leaning toward the Ronix Caption, it is sooooo fun. I also like the LF Custom but I'm just to hard on stuff, I could see my idiot buddies destroying that thing in a year, so I guess its really the Ronix or a little smaller Phase 5.

it's where i grew up, but i'm living in the cities now. only lake to board on is Lake Zumbro, about 15 minutes north of roch. i'm not sure how many boarders are in the area. i know my cousin sometimes rides with one of his friends who has a supra. what else you wanting to know?

no motors on that lake. the ski team might do one or two shows there in the summer. it's only 5-6 feet deep with about 1 foot of goose crap on the bottom...nasty!

they should have the launch on Zumbro open prolly from April-Oct or so.

shady lake is a no go too. too small/shallow. you should be able to find a decent spot on most days. weekends will be super crazy because it's the only lake in the area.

you should only need a wetsuit up until June, then again starting late September...water temps should get to 78-83 here in MN in July and August. they start to drop off then in mid September.

So how was the first day of the boat show?? Im planning on hitting it up on Sat. Can i just get my ticket at the door? And where is it exactly? I live in Eagan. Any directions would be well appreciated. Thanks!

donaldrhill: How far is rochester from the cities? Come time to ride ill be looking for pulls anywhere i can get. I dont mind throwing down on gas or anything either. The boat in your profile pic looks pretty sweet to me bro. Im also new to the area so this will be my first summer boardin up here.

Does anyone ever ride on the river? I bet it would be super calm, or is there like dams and stuff?

I ride mostly on the St. Croix River above the Taylors Falls dam. My parents have a houseboat on that stretch of river. There is about 12-13 miles of good water before it gets extremely shallow. I can find glass any day of the summer and boat traffic is never an issue like it is in the Stillwater/Hudson area.

Mark, you are welcome to ride behind my boat anytime this summer. My goal is to save up enough gas money for the season, so I don't have to work at all this summer. That would be the life...

I work at Joes Ski Shop, so I picked up a Burton setup this year for next to nothing. I have only been out once in MN this year. I am much better on my twin tips than on my board. If I don't make it back out west this year, I wouldn't mind doing a Lutsen trip. They don't check for lift tickets at all, which makes for a really cheap trip.

Maybe I should be more specific:

ANDY NINTZEL Fully Sponsored Wakeslayer Gives Lessons.

Basically I am still giving lessons to anyone interested. I can help with all levels of riding from that first day on the water to your first invert, to Dialing in that Toeside 720, I have you covered. This year I am not going to purchase insurance, so all lessons will need to be on the on a boat other than mine as I will not be covered to give lessons out of my own boat. I do hourly, full and Half-day lessons. No limit on the amount of people for each lesson, however 3 to 4 is Ideal so every body gets some water time. I have all the wakegear you will ever need and will bring along Fat Sacs to help you dial in your wake and maximize your boats performance. Anyone interested Email me or PM via wakeworld.com.
