Carbon fiber trim pieces

Anyone know if there is an aftermarket carbon fiber trim kit for the gauge bezeil and ignition area.

For what boat?

I have a 05 moomba XLV and the current piece is gray. I saw the sanger on the pp topic and liked it.

I don't know Grant personally so I guess I can't really laugh at that statement. Just use the word "cheap" when you ask him. That word seems to hit a soft place in his heart.

We have done some dash replacements for a 2000 Supreme out of a 6K CF weave. If there is enough interest in a particular boat, model, year range we will consider opening a tool. The cost could be relatively inexpensive if interest exists. I will try to post some pics of the dash we did later.

Most of this very customized stuff takes tons of hours to get it done right. Sometimes it takes two or three times to reach the desired level of perfection. When I built the custom key-remote panel for my Nautique it took me probably 15 hours to get it done and installed. Props to Bocephus for finding a good source that could reproduce these panels for a decent price ($100). Figuring that I could do two or three at a time I could probably get the fabrication time down to 2-3 hours each so I would be looking at $300 in labor alone, not worth it for anyone. I consider myself cheap, that's why I do most of everything myself. I can also be a perfectionist. Cheap perfectionists don't always make good customers, however there are lot of us out there. Captain bling has surely seen this thread, his absence of post should tell you that he is not interested in doing charity work.

If the surfaces you mention are flat you might be able to get decent results using an immitation carbon laminate, but it will not look as good as the real thing.

Just have Sierra make it, they can make anything...and the prices are reasonable.

Aqua, if the factory makes what you need for an SSV you should just get their unit from a dealer. That's a whole bunch easier than trying to make it. I didn't realize you were just trying to save a few bucks.

Just got back from te lake house, Yes No computer "Thank GOD". CAR told me about the thread or I would have never know'n about it. I say make them yourself. That's how I got started. Search around the internet and see how its done you can figure it out theres lots of information out there.

Hey if you know anyone that does good work like this for cheep and is willing to give up there free time doing small projects like this for next to nothing let me know I have a bunch of stuff I need made.
Truth is if I was way better at it and I could make these type of peices in 20 min's and get $100 for it it would be worth it but somthing like this you could take you 2 days to do easy
and for how fast I go threw money I would rather spend my free time doing somthing else. Like watching my Tivo list. LOL J/K

Sierra will build what ever you pay them to make depending on how busy they are. Last year I restored a SAN that had capsized and they built a bunch of parts for me.





I think they even might bag their own Carbon Fiber. I have seen a remote control helicopter frame they made out of carbon fiber and a bunch of other stuff. The above radio hole in the glove compartment was originally cut for a XMD3 and the left a big hole when I tried to install the CMD4 so they made the little plate for me. The boat didn't originally have a remote so I had them make this for the CMD4 remote.
