Anyone have a good online source for ATV parts? I'm about 99% sure my 2001 Yamaha Raptor needs a new starter and don't really want to pay the price for the OEM part at the local shop.

whats your starter doing? you may need a new one way baring, if that is bad you should replace the gear that is starts with. look online, there is a lot of after market parts out there for your bike.

My cousin told me the same thing. Going to tear it apart this week to check it out first. Wanted to find a ball park price on the whole thing if necessary. B

Basically the starter makes noise, sounds like it wants to engage but just spins. Any idea what the one way might cost?

the one way is about $200 and the gear is is about $100. when you tear it down, if that gear has any marks where the one way is replace it or it will just tear it up and you will be out $200

I'll agree that you probably need a new one way bearing.

Look for LA Designs brand aftermarket one way. Much stronger than factory.

Check Bluetraxx.com forums for info on Raptor parts.

I use to get alot of stuff from RaptorTranny.com but I cant find the site anymore.

You can get the aftermarket one ways for around $125 - $150

Yea, thats it. I had the same problem on my '03 Raptor. used the LA one way for the repair and no problems since.
