I'm still waiting on all the specs, but I just put up the images for all the 2010 O'Brien gear in our Wakeboard, Binding, Wakeskate and Wakesurf Board Buyers Guides. They've got some pretty cool looking stuff this year. I especially like the Decade in both the board and the boot. The board probably has the coolest logo I've seen since the Hyperlite Murray logo a few years back. Check 'em out... - O'Brien Wakeboard Buyers Guide - O'Brien Binding Buyers Guide - O'Brien Wakeskate Buyers Guide - O'Brien Wakesurf Board Buyers Guide

is it safe to assume that companies are sticking with the 6" insert pattern for 2010?

Jay, Yes everyone is on board with the 6" pattern right now I think that even Hyperlite is on board this year.

Ryan, Yes my understanding is that it is replacing the Vice Boot. Honestly I thought this was the last year of the vice 09, but apparently I am incorrect.

Jeremy, Josh is still ripping for sure. Really just doing a lot with red bull and not so focused on riding contests this year.

The Tracer boot is a new closed toe model that is a little less techy than the new Decade and Vice boots are.

Thanks for the info Andy. Chris J had told me the same thing, that this was the last year for the vice but very happy to hear that it's sticking around for another season since that's the board I ride. What about the Tactic's & Logik bindings? Didn't see much in the OT area unless Dave hasn't posted all the info yet.

Gene, Our Highest level OT Binding for 2010 will be the Link Boot, It is really been beefed up from the previous years and has some nex tech added to it. Great Foot bed and beefed up all aroud wrap make it the best choice for riders looking to shred an OT O'brien Binding.

Its nice to see that O'brien is catching up. The decade boots and board are really nice. I'm just curious, is it just me or do the foot beds look very similar to the LF foot beds from 2007?

Darren I wouldn't say we are catching up, we have been in this game for a long time. In fact I would personally say (obviously I am a bit Biased Here) that O'brien is really on of the main companies pushing the edge on board shape and base technology, the Delta base is no gimmick, it really works. It takes traditionally slow boards, aggressive 3-stage, Really Wide Boards, etc., and turns them into rockets. Our boards are fast, faster than any on the market. Chris Johnson our lead engineer at O'brien is really producing some cutting edge boards. Not to mention that our Rail Line, The Local and the R5 are the only boards on the market that have a FULL RAIL warranty, that's pushing the limits. I never understood why this industry and the snowboard industry create products specifically for Rail Riding, then the instant that you hit a jib or rail on the board it voids the warranty. As for out foot beds, they are 100% new from the ground up, and I think they look totally different that anything from LF. They certainly ride different.

you are right they look exactly the same ... they are both BLACK... to be honest there is always someone who finds a similar product when something new is coming up. I don t care about o brian choosing the same special LF colour. All O Brian riders I know are very happy with the comfort though all bindings i saw were not durable enough.

Simon, in case you didn't know, Obrein and Liquid Force are owned by the same company and have always had some overlap in their products and taken queues from one another. Although over the years there has been less and less similar gear, you can still see similarities, especially Darren's, which is pretty obvious.

+1 for the xenons. Im sorry but the footbed in the Link looks to be the same foot bed in the logik and tatic. And that footbed doesnt even compare to the xenons. And they should have done a dual lace set up on the links. in my opinion.

So Andy, If I have the Cartel and love it but mainly ride my Tribute or Legend. What newer Obrien board would you recommend?

Gene, I am SUPER into the Decade. It has a lot of the same feature as the Cartel, but its wider everywhere, tip, tail, mid. I loved the Cartel/Coda, but its a bit narrow for me. The Decade has a Really aggressive rocker line much like the Legend. I would suggest the Decade if your into fast boards with aggressive 3-stage.

I LOVE my Natty. The only other boards I would even consider right now are the Decade... or maybe a Sine. Although, for me (I'm a big dude), the speed inherent in the Obrien boards is awesome. I'm hoping to get in a little time on the Decade at the NWWF next month, although it may just be a dream for me at this point... just don't have the funds for new gear these days.
