Sick! Finally the day has come but I'm sticking to my 2004 Absolute next season! gotta love that little cwb trooper 125 for kids. did cwb run out of graphics for the pure so they slapped on the 2004 prodigy graphics? Can't wait to get my hands on the new Lotus next season for my girl. like the look of the new boss's & of course the zues.

I rode the new Absolute last weekend. I thought it rode more like the Transcend than the last Absolute. Little tighter ride. Little slower. One of the other guys I was riding with felt the same.

The new tattoo looks sweet, I cant believe nobody on here rides that board. I love the way mine rides. What is up with the 05 surfers? Is the graphics and shape the same as the 04s? (Message edited by Pierce Bronkite on October 05, 2004)

Pierce... I know of a future Pro (youve seen him in several vids) that rides it... The surfers remain the Ride and Tsunami, no changes that I know of. Derek - FWIU the 04 Absolute is 05 Flame the 03 Absolute is the 05 Pure I can double check this info later. PS: I added my $0.02 to the board review sections.

Thanks Chavez. Still curious as to whether they've changed things besides graphics when going from Absolute to Flame to Pure (rocker, etc.) You know the, "straight from the molds of the '03 Absolute" line. I liked the idea of the Flame since it should mean cheaper price. Funny thing with molds is that you don't just tweak rocker lines without MAKING NEW MOLDS. Graphics are an easy change, and maybe internal construciton, but not mold line stuff.

Pierce... my son, Derek, rides the Tattoo. He tried every "name" CWB board and thought they were to slow for his riding style. He LUVS the Tattoo.

derek, you can still modify molds by shaving some material from it but of course it means that it would add some material to the board's core which doesn't really make any sense except for adding molded fins... if you would want to add, for example, a dished out top to an existing board, you would have to add inserts to the mold... and yeah the way they tweak rocker would mean that they modify the molds unless the core is flexible enough coming out of it... I guess Chavez forgot that the 02 absolute is now the 05 Sol and Trooper... I'm still wondering where does the 05 Tatoo shape comes from... is it a new shape or an 03 Prodigy with a dished top that looks like the 03 absolute??

besides both of them being lace-up bindings, how are the 2 similar? 2 completely different heel and toe pieces, different overlays, different base plates. so how are the 2 similar?

I dont know about you guys, but i'm not really to hip on the absolute graphics. The platinum looks ok. Would like to try the new rocker but I think the board but I definately think they could have done better.

I rode the new platinum with the new boss bindings. I like the look of that setup. But I think I still like the 04 bindings better. New footbed isn't quite as cush imo.

I like a firm footbed. Heel lift is what causes bruises. I never got a single bruise from a pair of Wiley's, the tri-axis may be next bindings to the Ultra, IMO. I dont like how manufacturers are making footbeds thicker and thicker. You seem to lose the feel of the board under ya. I like how the bindings spot on the new Absolutes are resessed. I think thats a great idea.

Jonathan, seems like there'd either be two molds (top and bottom skins with the core injected) or three molds (two skins plus core). Final step in either will be making a sandwich inside the skin molds. To change rocker (without heating/bending the finished board), you'd have to cut new skin molds for sure. 2004 Absolute - 2005 Flame 2003 Absolute - 2004 Flame - 2005 Pure 2002 Absolute - 2003 ??? - 2004 Pure - 2005 Sol But don't listen to me...I let an '04 Absolute go on eBay yesterday for $210 without intervening. Hope there's still a few of them around in a couple months or I'll be stuck with Ghetto Fab for ????? (Message edited by toyotafreak on October 07, 2004)
