Hi i am a beginner and i like to buy a wakeboard and bindings. I usually ride a friendīs LF stance 2006. Here in Argentina we cant test de wakeboards and the bindings and the prices are higher than USA.
I did a research and for my money (550 usd) i found:
**LF omega 2007 with CWB Boss 2004
**Neptune (made in argntina same of neptune misson 2002) whit Obrien Link 2007-
**Obrien Vision 2006 with Obrien base or liquid force Element 2006.

All the option are brand new, what its the best option???

Thanks in advance!!
Gonzalo

I have the Boss 2004 and they are very good bindings in my opinion.
If I had to choose...y would go with the Omega and the Boss combo.

these are just examples but for that money you can buy pro gear....dont get beginner stuff just because your a beginner. buy the best equipment you can afford. check ebay and boardersmall.com for 2007 closeout gear.

the vision and element are basic stuff that you could prob find for 250 somewhere on ebay. So for the 500 or less get the pro stuff. Cheap bindings just dont give you the support and dont hold you in as well.....once you progress a bit they really wont be enough....pro bindings are soft and cushy with lots of support and hold you in. (in the end that means they are safer)

...these bindings plus the transcend above $400 plus shipping and taxes 550 to your door prob....and you'll have the best stuff money can buy! if you call them they even might do a pakage deal and some sort of shipping deal.

....all depends on the shipping and handling costs etc....could still be better to buy in the states.

The shipping costs to Argentina i think they are VERY expensive...i live near Argentina and here it`s impossible.
But offcourse Gonzalo you can do a lil reseach.

.......I just checked shipping a board to argentina is about 68 dollars.....and bindings about the same. So if you bought brand new 2005 or 2006 stuff for around 100 bucks each your still getting better equipment for a better price.

You have Customs Taxes either.

I don't know what size you are but I would get this omega, fusion package for 149.99 I don't know what it would be to ship to argentina but it's free shipping in the US.

I agree with Michael, don't buy a beginner board, I did and regreted it. I progressed through that board and actually made the mistake of buying a more intermediate board and just replaced that one. Wakeside.com has good closeout sales for last years products, take a look there and they do ship international.

The shipping is arround 100-150.And the taxes are arround 60-65% of the invoice value.
Also i cheched a lot of wakeboards stores on line and there the shipping costs are form 150 to 550.

First i thought to buy all in the States, but when i did a little research of the shipping costs and the taxes. Also the risks of recive a broken wakeboaerd because the handling...

I think the best option is the vision and a recoil bindings... are 40 usd more expensive than the base. What do u think??

Thanks
Gonzalo

I am going to make the same suggestion I always make!

Go get an O'brien Player, toss some Xenons on it, it will be the best thing you've ever done for your wakeboarding.
Old     (ozz)      Join Date: Feb 2008       02-13-2008, 9:50 AM Reply
The obrien player its 500 usd here, plus 450 the xenon, and i like a board and bindings for 500-600.

.....well I bought my son a vision (because it looked cool, otherwise I could't get him on a board)last year, it is a cheap board price wise but has a nice advanced cut to it with the molded in fins etc.....I was surprised that a board like that was set up like that. So if thats your best option I would say go for it. Is that price what they are listing for there? if you ask you might get a deal from a local guy......but you have to ask or you wont receive. Oh and just for your information I got the vision for 98 dollars .
