How many hours did everyone put on their boat this summer?

I... sadly.. only put 50 hrs on our brand new Malibu. Unfortunately I had to work more than I wanted to.

96 hrs, but many more hours of just hanging with the engine off, boats tied off and a cold beer with the crew

30 riding at least twice a week. Private lake, ride more, spend less time doing it.

little over 100. I thougth living on the lake I'd ride more, but what it really meant was a longer commute to work = less day light hours, and just happen to be working more than last yearNow it's already dark everyday I get home.

You Texas guys and southern states should be in like the thousands! just kidding 260 is a lot of hours. i only put 80 on in 4 months. 20 hours a month. 5 hours a week. 1 hour every weekday. none on weekends cuz the 3 foot LG rollers coming from every direction are too much on weekends. ha.

this would be a good pole question.

56+ since May 1 on the new 211 but that's deceiving. I wouls say 50 of it is riding time not just running the engine time. We split time between 3 boats. SO if we only used mine it probably would be alot higher (125 easily).

Curious.......... all the guys with over 100hrs. Is your boat the only one used, how many people go and do you drive the boat to a spot to ride then have to drive back (ie some delta spots)? What's the estimate on riding time?
Old     (cweb)      Join Date: Sep 2006       10-27-2006, 9:50 AM Reply
Yeah, unfortunately i have the only boat for the most part. my 260 hrs consisted of a trip to bull shoals pulling 22 people for 5 days straight, a trip to manitowish waters pulling 4 of us for 5 days, and then the every day 3 hour a night rides, plus full days saturday and sunday...ussually between 3 to 6 riders.

Mine is the only boat in my crew. It is usually me,my son and daughter riding (wife wont even try) 30% of the time I have 2-3 buddies with me. I would estimate 50% of the hours are actual riding time on weekends plus my one week vacation on the lake when we did about 35 hours. Maybe 1% for tubing (yeah I said it tubing)

about 45 hours so far. strictly riding time. we launch, ride for a few hours, and then go home when the wind picks up.

The national average is about 35 hours.

Need to check the gauge, but I think we did about 150 hours this year....in Minnesota.

~50hrs. We didn't start until May and ended in Aug due to some issues. We also don't spend a lot of time just driving/idling around.

"The national average is about 35 hours."

I call them "thrice-a-year" boaters. The rest of the world that boats on the 3 major boating holidays only - memorial day, 4th of july and labor day.

For a lot of us on here, our own boat's hours is probably only a partial indication of how much time we spend on the water since a lot of us ride with friends.

something like 65ish, but I broke the trailer and then hit a submerged tree, so there was some downtime. Spent plenty of time on the water overall, and rode friends boats a lot too, Probably one of the most progressive summers and I rode less...

May 15 - Oct 1 = 119 hrs. Last year was high 90's, so we beat that. Live 1/2 from the lake, have the trailer parked at the campground all summer and picked up a boat lift this fall, so next summer I'm shooting for 150!

Yeah, about 40 on mine and 200 on Jarrod's.

Ha, ha, LOL.

Actually, I did 180 on mine in the same 14 months and who knows how many on the other multiple boats I rode behind this year (A couple SAN's, the Epic, a couple V-215's, Some Bu's). I'd put my total boat hours at over 300 this year. I love not being the only one with a boat. When I first started riding I was doing around 200/yr on my boat before finding some other people to ride with.

Oh, and my hours are basically all riding this year. No cruising or hanging out. I only made 1 camping trip this year. Sad, really....
