Sanger V210 Owners

Like to ask a couple of questions?

Do they still have the hump in the middle of the engine cover?

Hard to tell by the picture on the Sanger website but is there enough freeboard to prevent rollers from coming over the side or bow?

With a 1,000 lbs of ballast do you get a descent wake?

If you get the 330 HP Black Scorpion engine I don't think there is a hump.

I run a lot more than 1000 pounds without problems.

No hump on my '99 w/Black Scorpion

I've never swamped mine, although a buddy driving it once took some water over the bow. (After a quick lesson on what not to do, he was fine.)

Personally, I've always preferred low freeboard boats. One of many reasons I own a Sanger.

I wouldn't call it a hump but the aft deck is not completely flat (higher in the middle)as compared to a v215 or larger.
I was surprised at the wake with 1000lbs ballast.

Low is sexy. The V210 is surprisingly dry even when slammed down, it has a unique way of rocking around with wakes which keeps the water at bay. We regularly run 2000 pounds and can't remember the last time we took a wave in, we use the bow cover which helps as well. You do have to know how to drive though, powering around at 7-10 mph causes chest high rollers which would swamp anything.

Oh, and we have the 350mag motor so the deck is humped, I like the way it looks but a flat deck would be more practical. The Black scorp motor allows a flatter deck but its not completely flat.

I surf behind a V210 with around 1,500 lbs of ballast and it works fine. The driver just has to be careful not to stop too quick if the rider falls, or water will come over the back. As far as the hump goes I like it. My boat doesn't look like all the other ones out there.

Have 05 V210 and run about 1200# ballast and have had no problems...but u do have to know how to drive right...but thats the sick part about sangers are how sleek they are...the wake is awesome...buddy has an 06 x-2 and my sanger wake is bigger and is lot more fun to ride behind...

Kind of off the topic but does anyone surfing behind a sanger V210 use a F.A.E. Fresh Air Exhaust? If not do you ever feel any of the effects of carbon monoxide. Headaches, dizzyness anything?

Ken, I don't have a F.A.E. on my V210. I surf behind it a lot and haven't ever noticed a headache or dizziness. I have heard good things about the F.A.E though.

Ken, If we're not Wakeboarding behind ours, we are surfing or skating, and no one has gotten dizzy or headaches.
But that's kind of like saying "I don't wear a vest, and I'm still alive"
I think F.A.E.s are a good saftey idea, especially if you surf alot for long periods of time.

Michael when you say your Sanger wake is bigger than the X2 is that when wakeboarding or wakesurfing or both?

With the FAE on you can talk to the surfer.

here is a picture of the the back deck on a 2006 v210 with the black scorpion engine. the sides slope down but the middle deck is completely flat.

For you Sanger guys.....which boat puts out a bigger wake? the 215 or the 210

Without ballast, I would say hands down 210, and not because I have one, but the 90" beam and low freeboard takes very little to sink 'er down. With ballast and how much?
...I don't want to get into that pissing contest.

I remeber this argument getting NASTY not long ago. Hey Richard, show the pics of your 215 slammed, and the wake....biggest 215 wake pic I have seen.

My boat has no factory ballast, this shot is with a half full fatsac on the port side to make up for the drivers' weight, and no one else in the boat...

V210 throw a good wake as do V215's. The pic in my profile is from behind a 2004 V210, Factory ballast with 8 people in the boat from what I remember. It was a great wake and boosted you well.

Both will throw a great wake, but the V210 will do it with less ballast and less fuel used, and still handle like a champ. The V210 is narrower, and like chris said, narrower boats require less weight. Another example of this is the SAN 210. Low freeboard is really only an issue if the driver is in-experienced. And yes Gary, you can get a decent wake with 1000lbs., depending on the speed you ride at.

And what speed would that be?

The 210 is narrow and steep while the 215 is wider and rampy. For quick thinking the 210 is like a SAN 210 and the 215 is very close to a Malibu

Steep is good for us guys with poor technique .
