Don't believe what anyone else tells you. The watson's are hands down the best!

CWB has some sick binding with the hinge tech. solid lock down and super comfy. (i ride the torq's and they work unreal.)

I like the cell way more than the 3ds... super soft footbed, really really stiff, and I haven't and an issue with them breaking yet

Rode the Cells, Rode the 3DS, rode the Zeus, rode the Murrays, bought Watsons. Returned Watsons, continued riding my 01 Belmonts.

I must say, my expectations for the Watsons were definitely the lowest, but amazingly, I liked them the best by far of all the others.

I thought the Cells were going to be super stiff, but they were a little sloppy and the heel hold was mediocre.

The 3DS were super stiff, but being like a sleeve, they're difficult to put on if you like your bindings really tight.

The Zeus's were easy to get into, but not as much fun as the others to ride, and were not very really all that stiff.

Loved the heel-hold of the murray's, just wish they were a bit stiffer up top and NOT closed-toe... and didnt' have that pointless lace over the top of the foot.

Watsons were easy entry, and snug down tightly... easy to adjust on-the-fly as well. Comfy and responsive. Stiff bindings, but could always be stiffer. ha. Best of the new, stiff boots for sure though.

My favorite bindings though? I have a pair of 2001 Belmonts that I continue to rock... super stiff, nice footbed, overlays are tight and unpadded (no neoprene). If you can find these, but them - they'll perform just as well as anything new, at 1/4 the price. Plus, you'll earn some respect points for not buying the latest-and-greatest just to look cool...

i rock the cells and i love them, but i wanna try the new gators and ricky g closed toes and see how they are. word on the street is that the ricky gs are the lightest bindings out.

ss's are comfy but IMO they're a pain to get out of while in the water...you really have to cut the laces and make them NOT so long.

i love my watsons...

The best bindings are the one's that you like the best. If you want to be serious, ask these guys what they like about their favorite bindings. Demo as many as you can.

And news about the 2008 Murray bindings? They look very nice.

Ultras, can be difficult to get in and out of at first but you get used to it, also no laces, hinges, etc will break on you

Best you can do is demo some boots. Second best thing: try on different boots in the store and jump up and down, move side to side, etc. to get a feel of them all. I used to think that store trials were good enough, but a boot on the water while boarding WILL feel different than on land in a store, but it still gives you a good idea

AS for my PERSONAL OPINION:
I'd recommend Slingshot too, '08 only though since '07 don't have much of a foot bed(which isnt all that necissary if you have a slingshotboard to go with them with flex to compensate for minimal footbed) The '08 slingshot boots have thick poron footbeds, heat-moldable liners (some other companies have this too), and many other features that i think are great

Slingshot bindings are some of the easiest bindings to get on and off in or out of the water... The KEY to making them easier is COMPLETELY UNLACING THEM, including releasing them from the lace-locking-teeth on the last lace loop up on the cuff. I have seen Very few bindings open wider through the front (opening the tongue like a door) I'd say they are just as easy if not more easy to get on as the CWB Zeus with the hinge tech... just slower due to the laces... but not much slower after you get used to it. Slingshot boots have more lacing options than other boots, with the inclusion of an inner lace for ankle support... some consider it a pain, but id rather say they provide even more customization than the next boot. if you like 'em loose, tighten only a few of the laces, if you like em tight, cinch all those bad boys up.

BUT ONCE AGAIN... GO TRY ON DIFFERENT BINDINGS YOUR SELF TO GET AN IDEA OF WHAT YOU REALLY LIKE

Everybody's foot is different so if possible try to demo or at least try different bindings on.

With that said, Slingshot bindings are the most comfortable and best fitting that I have used.

i have been riding with the 07 3ds' for about 5 months and i am on my 3rd pair. Its an amazing boot and its super confy and perfectly stiff but WOW they are built so crappy. If the liners not tearing, then the backs is coming of or the laces are breaking. Goood thing hyperlite replaces them so easily. Im just wondering what a boot similar to the 3ds is but also wont break so eassily

LF's Are Heavy!!!! [in my own personal expirience... ] I would second the cells, very stiff and light. or the ones, little more flexibility, ive also heard some good reviews about the old '04 highbacks, good luck gettin your hands on a pair of those though.
