i was out this weekend and had two falls where i hit the back of my head hard and gave me a head ache. my question is will a helmet prevent this?

i have worn a helmet all season. i don't see stars after bad crashes nor have i gotten any headaches. oh and never had any whiplash from wearing a helmet.

Wore my helmet for the first time behind the boat this weekend. I had a few really bad head slammers and only had a very minor headache last night. This is a significant improvement over not wearing it at all. I do have some neck pain this morning though but way better than the concussion i got the last time i was out. I say the helmet is a wise choice.

went to wakenation to night to see what they had in the way of helmets for sell, i was not impressed there, is no way they are going to stop the kind of impact that i had last weekend. the helmets i looked at didn't have very thick of foam inside them, maybe if your hitting sliders, other wise i just don't see the need.
