I'm in the process of purchasing a 2004 with 94 hours. I've test driven it and it drives fine and even had a suprisingly nice wake when decently weighted (Centurion T5), but as I was out today, I started wondering what's average?
Keep in mind that I live in SW Florida and you can ski year round. How many hours do you guys put on your boat in an average year? Thanks.

yeah, I had a boat before with over 800 hours on it, but it was 10 years old. Sorry about the double posting, too, i didn't see the other thread about this.

I've heard that nation wide 50 hours is average on boats. In warm climates it is more. We averaged 150 over the past 4 years since my sons became addicted to wakeboarding.

We did 300 last season and I hope to top that this year.

I've done 150 in a year before. Last 2 seasons its been approx 50hrs.

If I could ride all year I'd rack up 300 or so easy.

Yeah, I guess that there's not really an average, huh? I guess it makes sense. It's not a car, where 15K is the national average (although I average over 20 easily) it's more of a lifestyle determination and who's to say what's "average"? I think I'll just have the marina hook up to the computer so I can make sure the engine reports the same as the hour meter. I've heard too many horror stories about marinas unhooking hour meters or installing new meters....

I've heard the same as George - 50 hours is 'average'. Obviously folks who are addicted will visit this site a lot and will be those who are well above average.

I've owned a Baja for the last 7 years and put on ave 45 hours per year. But that was before Wakeboarding! Think about what you do with a boat like that. You haul ass for a few minutes and then sit around and drink beer. You do this about 1 day per week during the summer. A Wakeboarding boat goes non stop / multiple days per week / for a much longer season. That's why IMO the 50hr rule doesnt come close. I would say its more like 150hr per year.

Comming from a HI-PO world I can tell you the engines can last to/beyond 2000hrs and if under 6 years old are bullet proof. The #1 thing to look for is the service they have had on them. If they have had the oil changed every 50 hours or so and drives serviced once per year you have found someone who's anal and taken real good care of their boat.

I think the camps put 450+ on in a year. We put like 80 on our boat our first year, this year we'll probaly put more on. If we could ride year round that number would probaly double. So yeah, 90 is nothing.

The average yearly hours are 100 hours for California and 60 hours for the rest of the country. I think that florida is creeping up on the cali average these days. 94 hours is not much to be worried about but check maintance records to assure that nothing was neglected durring those 94 hours.
