I've heard from two different people and one poster on this board that Master Craft is up for sale. Is this true? What's the story from those of you in the know?

They are not for sale and the management team that is in place there is going to stay the same unlike what was posted.

Oh ya by the way Malibu IS being "shopped", in other words they are looking to see what they can sell it for.

Isn't Malibu employee owned??

Only about 10% of Malibu is actually owned by like 8 or 9 employees. The rest is owned by a guy named Bob Alchema, sorry about the spelling of the last name.

Jay,

I don't know how current that information is, but as of this past spring 49% of Malibu was employee owned, the other 51% owned by Mr. Alkema.

Mastercraft is owned by a holding company, so pretty much they are always for sale. That gives other companies such as Malibu and Skiers Choice the upper hand.

All companies are for sale. It just depends on the price.

As of last week the numbers that I gave where up to date. There is no upper hand either way, owned by a holding company or some guy that no one ever sees. But the fact that Mastercraft is owned by a holding company is part true, they are also owned by John Dorton and a group of former employees who are now running the company.

Monster Tower is officially interested in buying MasterCraft. We dont have much money and were not that good looking but if they can get over that it's a perfect fit
