Hey guys,

I posted this on TigeOwners as well and got some mixed opinions. I finalize the deal on my Z1 order tomorrow and this is the color scheme we went with. What do you guys think? I think it looks great on the computer screen but kind of nervous as to how it will turn out in person. Do you think resale on this color combo will be hard a few years down the road?

Anyways, here it is!

Looks great..... If re-sale is a big concern maybe do the tower in black?
Sharp boat. Have you gotten to demo the VX yet? Curious to hear some reviews of the Z1 with the VX

I think the color combo looks awesome!

resale should be fine, but i am partial to blue. its kind of a timeless boat color that doesnt fade as much as red and yellow etc

Looks great. I think it looks better with a black tower myself - but that's personal opinion. Tige's always look better in person than they do on the boat builder. Congrats - you will LOVE that boat. I'm jealous.

i am on the fence abou the blue. i really liked the vapor blue that malibu offered, but my wife said she would get tired of it quickly. It looks so good with the black. sharp looking boat.

I think it's a great color combo (partial to blue and colored towers too though)

i think if youre concerned about resale add a little white to tone things down and make it cooler to to the touch on the deck. but dont loose sight of the custom order. this boat is YOURS so keep it YOURS

I say stay with the blue tower. I think that's what makes the boat look good to me anyway.

This boat is at my local Tige dealer and was also at the boat show. I know it's not the same but I think it's the same blue you are looking at. It's really sharp with the black.

That Z1 is sharp! I really like the color of that blue. The blue is called Electric Blue and I believe it is the same as that one pictured.

As for the demo, I have not demo'd the vx yet, but am extremely excited to see what this Z1 can do. My only surfing experience is behind a 2012 SAN 210, so I think I am in for a treat!

Thanks for all the responses, I feel better about the color choice now. After looking at the same combos over and over again, they all start to grow on you and make the decision so hard.

Here is a pic of the Z1 from the show sorry no picks of the one in the background. I love a black boat but they are a pain to keep clean. The white is spectacular and is the same metallic white that you see on Cadillacs. It was by far my favorite boat at the show just super clean

Harold, that white does look amazing. I really do like that, but at the same time if I am custom ordering, I almost feel bad just going plain white.

It is not quite plain there are millions of little sparkles everywhere. I understand where you are coming from with the custom order I have just never been the biggest fan of blue on a boat. If you toned it down with a black tower I think it would look better.

I love my all white RZR. I considered doing all pearl white but just didn't want to spend the money. I've never seen one in person but I bet it's sweet. Kinda wish now I had done it.

How can you opt for the pearl white vs. plain white? On the website it doesn't anything but white.

It doesn't show it on the boat builder but you can opt for pearl on any of the colors.

I was not aware of this. I wonder how the Electric Blue would look in pearl. Do you know how much more it is?

Tige will send you gel coat samples. The Electric blue and Pacific Blue look similar on the website.I would make sure you could see them side by side before you order. The boat T. J. posted at his dealer looks to be Pacific Blue/Black and Graphite. If you go to T.O. i have pictures of my last two Tige's . The 2007 was Navy Blue/Stone and Graphite with a White deck. The 2011 is Pacific Blue/White and Black accents. One thing i will caution you on is Black looks very good when clean but will show water spots bad and requires constant detailing.

What white Z1 is sick!

I like the OP's colors, except for the blue tower. Too much IMO.
Old     (illini88)      Join Date: Oct 2007       02-14-2013, 5:26 AM Reply
Is that grey or white in the striping on the original picture? If it's grey, I've seen some Tige's with grey (metal flake, I believe) that look really good. In that small pic, the blue tower is a little over the top for me. That being said, I typically like the colored towers on the water.

I don't remember how much it is but I do remember that the pearl option is priced per panel. So basically, every panel that you can change the color on can be done as pearl. The pricing is different based on the size of the panel.

They are 35% and I think they are perfect. My wife wasn't happy when I told her that I tinted it until we took the boat out for the day. It makes a big difference but since we always wear sunglasses it is still easy to see out of, even when it's overcast.

That pearl white on that Z1 really was beautiful. You really have to see the boat up close to appreciate what the pearl effect does to it. I am not a white boat kind of guy and seeing this boat in person really has me considering a Tige..... It really was sweet. I am curious how that black would look in a pearl...

I just unwrapped an all pearl metallic black Z3, I will post some pics as soon as I get the boat into some natural sunlight. The black looks amazing as well, very similiar to the Tuxedo Black from Ford. This Z3 has Pearl Metallic Black tower with everything other than the interior gel pearled. Custom Sea-Dek interior as well.

TJ, do you have the name of that dealer where that Z1 is located? I would like to contact them and ask what blue that is. My Tige dealer told me that they hardly ever order boats with the pacific blue because it is older and the electric blue looks much better.

In regards to the tower, I also think the picture looks over the top, but in person I think it will look much better. The striping on the graphic is grey.
Old     (Houstonshark)      Join Date: Jan 2011       02-14-2013, 11:54 AM Reply
It's at Texas Tige Marine. 936.447.8443
http://www.texastige.com/

They don't show it on their website yet.

Also, the silver graphic on the Z1 actually is reflective, if I remember after seeing it in the sun, almost like chrome but not that shiny.

Tony,
It's hard to tell but in the boat show picture, the RZ2 to the left of the white Z1 is Pacific Blue. It has a vinyl wrap on it, but the tower and hull are pacific blue. I'll try and see if I can find a picture of it without the wrap for a little better comparison
Old     (slax303)      Join Date: Oct 2005 Location: Portland to Boston       02-14-2013, 12:17 PM Reply
Here is an outside shot and an inside shot. I think the inside shot shows the actual color a little bit better. The pacific blue is definitely a little bit darker

Old     (Tony711)      Join Date: Feb 2013       02-14-2013, 12:46 PM Reply
Wow that is a big difference from inside to outside. I think the pacific blue might be a little too dark to accent the black. I think it might blend a little too much where as the electric blue will really pop.

If you go to Tige Owners i can direct you to several threads where i took pictures of the colors you want to compare inside and outside. The one that has Electric blue pearl metallic is in the General discussion thread on page 83.The thread is titled Robert and Shirley's visit to the Tige Factory. There is also the blue/black combo you want to compare.

What's the wake like on these Tige's? I have an Axis but love the looks of the Tige. I wakeboard most of the time and would like a good wake that doesn't wash too easy. Ridden behind a MB and a 230 as well and liked them both. The 230 was really nice of course. Any info or pics would be great.

Will update when I get on my comp.
The wake gets pretty meaty but figuring it out can be a long and washy process....

Yes the Sea-Dek came from the factory, I asked specifically to be put in the boat. I'm going to make my own template with the Z1 and Z3, that way I will be able to order it myself and install it. I'd like it have it everywhere Tige is currently putting there's, such as the dash, rear walkway and rear seating at the transom. I love the way the G23 turned out with there faux teak so I figured I'd try it on one boat. I think it turned out pretty good so will do it again for sure.

Well that depends... what does it look like at 95' w/out any ballast?

Can't wait for spring to get the new RZR on the water and see how it does. Wake was really nice when we demo'd. That was with 9 people in the boat and the stock ballast, was huge to me coming from a 21 foot direct drive.

Most of the stock ballast wakes are fine.I like to compare wakes to the diving board.Do you need the high dive to do a double Flip?Or can you do a double flip standing on the end of the low 1 meter board?Technique is the answer.

100% correct. A big wake is nice, but I'm a firm believer in technique improvement over ridiculous ballast setups.

RB, after wakeboarding behind a 90s prostar 190 I am also excited to see the wakeboarding wake. It's going to feel huge no matter what!

We had a Pro am skier, which would compare to an open bow Pro Star 190 and we ran with no weight because my wife has had knee surgery and couldn't be crawling over all the sacs. Trust me when we demo'd the RZR it was HUGE to me. A little intimidating the first time I cut in. But definately something I can get used too!!!! Night and day difference. I was super impressed with both wakeboard and wakesurf waves. But I am a novice and probably not to hard to impress. I think your going to love the Z1. I got to crawl around in one at the boat show and it feels way bigger than the RZR for only being another foot.

Sorry, I like the Tige lineup but that wake is very small compared to what most wakeboats in that size range put out. Of course, in typical WW fashion, guys will bash a Nautique's or Mastercraft's wake, but when it's a brand they like, they say "technique is more important anyways."

IF you are saying the Z3 wake is small by judging it in the Randall Harris pics...you do realize Randall likes to ride at a much higher than average speed. Something like 27-28ish mph. Almost any wake would look "small" at that speed. Plus, do you know if that Z3 was stock or slammed?

JetRanger got called out a little bit.... and Robert, once again, gets pwned a little bit.

Also, some of us do not get to ride multiple times a week, some not even once a week. With such little riding time, perfect technique will take a lot of work and a lot of months to start to get close to, and it is not super fun... however, a big mackin fun wake will take less than than $700 and add at most 15 minutes or so to your preparation time, and heelside heros can have a TON of fun riding like this. The right way, I think not, but it is not for me to decide.

I've got a boat and technique and i'm happy.JetRanger is entitled to his opinion.I've owned and ridden behind most of the boats out there.I can't see that much[inches] difference in their equally weighted wakes.I along with the majority of people at our lake think Tige's are by far the sexiest boats on the water.Others might not agree, but i really don't care.I'm happy and others need to do what makes them happy.

How did I get called out? The wake looked small. How was I supposed to know the man rides at slalom speeds?

I think Tige makes an elite surf boat but I don't think they are a powerhouse in the wakeboard wake category. Someone show me pics and prove me wrong.

Haha I just posted 3 pics of super clean knee high or above wake on my 6 foot frame from what may be the smallest vdrive wake boat sold right now at 20 feet long and 94 inches wide with a completely stock set up, what more do you want?? they're more than capable of producing a wake. Are they g23 sized? not even close, nothing comes close. Probably not even xstar sized but they will pump up big and clean IF you know what you're doing....

no no no man, you have it all wrong. CWB called you out for your age and being new to the board... and you pwned him with your response. Don't worry, you came out clean in this, the others, they continue to cement themselves into the mold they made for themselves.

Whatever though, I would ride Simples RZR, Roberts RZ2, or D Williams Z3 all day long... nice boats, nice wakes... There are just NO tige's in my lake even though there is a dealer <30 miles away...

Ok sorry am new here don't want to cause a scene or embarrass anyone. I'm not one to put down any boat I truly love them all just some execute better than others. I think Tige puts out a great product for their price point, are an elite stock surfing boat, and do have great style though their graphics are a bit dated.

I can think of at least 6 brands whose line of boats generally provide a better wakeboard wake:

Nautique
MB
Malibu
Mastercraft
Axis
Supra

(In that order)

So default to your "everyone on my lake thinks they are sexy," "wake size doesn't matter it's all about technique" arguments all day and all night, but don't expect cause I'm new here I'm gonna let you big-d*ck me around and let you go on about Tige having anything other than an average wakeboard wake.

I am a novice rider and Tige owner and will totally agree there are plenty of better wakes out there. Wakes are a lot of preference.

Since your new lets talk about you for a minute. First let me say I want your job man!! I have to give you props! Why you ask? Because from your few posts I already know you have Donald Trump type cash and at only 25. While to many people are living off the government you are on the fast track. Good on you! How do we know, because since 08 you've:

Owned a 2008 X star...$75K
Finished a BA with a pre med focus.....$150K easy from a college good enough to get into med school
Owned a 2011 X star....$80K +
Attended and dropped out of Med school....$100K plus

I know i'm just stating the obvious but help us out man, after all we're the poor saps slummin' it in the Tige's. Maybe you can turn me onto a good finance guy or something. That would be awesome.

JetRanger, you learned a valuable lesson. Don't ever, ever, ever, say anything bad about Tige on this site. Even if it is 100% true, you will get beat down by those who passionately defend the brand. Similar results apply to MB critiquing.

Just walk away...
