Depth finder placement in 86 Ski Nautique

Has anyone been able to get a depth finder to work through hull on a 1982-1987 Ski Nautique. I have been trying to get my Hawk Eye depth finder to work through hull on my 1986 Ski Nautique and have not had any luck.

I was hoping someone could tell me where to place it, and what brand depth finder they used.

i got a hawk eye and it worked great till the lcd went out... as for where to place it, i have no idea cus i havent been able to locate mine yet, but i can tell you that there is a way to make it work. just keep playin with it, i wanna say mine is up front near where the bilge goes out, but your best bet is to put it in the lowest part of the boat which is where the drain is. it should work through the hull there
