Surf Expo Wake Awards

This is the first year that I haven't seen Wake Award updates posted as the event happens. Here's what I've seen so far.

Brad Smeele got trick of the year for a double tantrum to blind on the mega ramp (cable)

Harley got rider of the year.

Most of it was covered on WBM's Instagram in real time and a lot of the athletes/wake brands were posting/commenting throughout the evening as well.

I think you're seeing less of this stuff posted on WW because the realtime news is happening in the social apps. Forums seem to becoming the place for discussion, but aren't as capable of delivering real time news as Twitter/Instagram.

I wish they would live stream those awards!
