upgrading my ipod connection

I have an XMD3 in my boat, and i've got my iPod hooked up through this connector:

works great, only trouble is that i bought that connector like 5 years ago and it only supports older iPods. What can I replace it with that uses the same female connector to let me just plug & play? I'm a total newb on this stuff, but hoping there's something i can easily swap out. I believe that Sik is now out of business.

Could upgrade to the Clarion CMD6 (Ebay has a refurb for $190 shipped). Will control your iPod directly from the head unit, which is a better way to do it IMO.

I did the XMD3 to CMD5 upgrade (screw holes covered by white tape)

yeah, thinking about doing the CMD6 upgrade...is there a template to make sure it has a perfect fit? if so, where can you get it?

went ahead and did the cmd6 upgrade...along with the highway robbery of buying the template from earmark to cover the screw holes...only 50 bucks delivered!
