Dave,
I have a 92 Excel and have two sacs in the rear and depending on how many people, I will sometimes add a sac to the front. I haven't been in many other comp. boats to compare the wake. I'm going for a morning run on Sunday and I will bring my camera and take some shots of the wake.I have heard the Sport Nautiques have better wakes and you will see a noticeable difference in the prices. I'll post the pics Sunday.

Dave,
I had a 93 excell with the open bow option. I would recommend getting two skegs for the bottom of the boat, one extra for sure. The boat is a great vdrive wakeboard boat, weighted, and if you add the skegs, will hold a rider's pull etc. etc. I had a little trouble planing when fully loaded though, the motor was only 280hp carbed. Good luck with your search, definately go with an open bow though, better resale value if you do decide to trade it in or sell it.
Mike
