there were some on that link I posted above but now all the 2013 stuff looks like it was pulled from that site. I think on the 15th Liquid Force is starting to leak stuff through their facebook page so I bet we will see some cool stuff in a few days!

I don't know why but to me those ronix pictures don't look legit... Mainly because they already did the orange/black color scheme on the 2011 Ibex, I feel like they would be something different if those were real

I cant tell one year apart from the next with Ronix lately. The graphics are all pretty basic with just different colors schemes. I like that they are simple but for some reason wish there was a little more going on with them. Anyone have any idea when we will see some of the 2013 slingshot stuff? Excited to see what they do this year

Those 2013 O'Brien models look great JB! I'm lovin the look of what I expect is the Contra, but can you tell me, which board is the second to the left/furthest to the right? Maybe a new 2013 model? Or am I not being smart and just can't realize what it is?

I'm curious what the improvement on the fasttrack is with the insert drop point moved to the center. Also...no KTV? The boot in the center of the group pic seems to have laces on it, which is likely it's replacement?

As always they (& Ennen, of course) do an awesome job graphically.

Wow the slingshot line looks great. But I agree why no more ktv? I love mine. They are holding up great and are super comfy. Not a huge fan of removable liners. Oh well. The yellow shred town boots are sick though!

Wow! That slingshot product is straight fire!!!! I have a 2012 response 145, but I think I need that recoil/shred town combo even if it just hangs on my wall! Best lookin product yet.

looks like the slingshot lacing system has gone to the traditional laces with lace eyelets instead of tubes and the single lace end pull. (speaking of the RADs

speaking of the KTVs... where is the Lyman board? no second year repeat?

really really digging the art and colors though

When the Lyman was announced, Keith talked about making "one last product." Now that he's away from the sport, I don't think it makes sense to keep putting out boards with his name on them.

The Lyman was a good shape though, would of been cool to see them keep the shape at least.

Can someone comment on the "lifespan" of a Slingshot board? Will it go "flat" or lose it's rebound over time?

awesome! i knew they were coming out with a model for langley, but had no idea they were coming out with 2! Is it true that the Bruce is a flex board then? Also same question as DC, any models being discontinued? I hope not because I love the lineup now! New boards wouldn't hurt though!

im not sure about how much flex the bruce will have, the one at the shoot was very rigid with just a bit of flex... not sure if that was the final version or not

The Five Stage was done when I was the U.S. sales manager for Concrete when they tried to get into the U.S. market, I rode it so did the crew nothing earth shattering. Sounds like Ronix might be rehashing old ideas !

It was a new shape last year, so I'm certain it's just different graphics.

There are definitely some cool new looks coming. One thing I noticed when I was looking at the Liquid Force gear that there was no PS4 or Soven bindings, are they coming out with a new shape later or did I just miss it? Also the new Byerly AR1 looks awesome

I think the new Byerly systems will be awesome. I've heard they have a few new innovations that improve upon the original Hyperlite design, and that Hyperlite refused to update their systems to match. I've seen Brenton Priestly killing it with this new System at O'dub for the past month or so.

check out the unusual upward bevel on the tip of the bottom of the new parks. very unusual. i dont think ive seen that done before. i wonder what the theory is? my ibex actually does the opposite the tip is flat on the bottom, and the top bevels down towards the bottom.

Old     (kristian)      Join Date: Nov 2002       08-20-2012, 8:56 AM Reply
The bevelled end can also be found on the bill. It's very useful to have on big wakes. Stops any unnecessary punching through.

Also makes the board last longer against thing like nose presses or the ollies on to rails that weren't quite high enough.

@DJ, the change to the fasttrack insert point has no major technical improvements. it gives the board a very clean look, when jeff mckee came out to mile high cable for our lipsmack premiere with the 2013 response mounted up it baffled me for a while how he got the boots on there until i found out that the insert point is located under neath the boot area

^ It's to protect your edge when your on the rail, that way your edge isn't directly sliding on the box allowing it to last longer and not delaminate. Humanoid does it, and does it very well.

Yeah I gave slingshot a few calls and it seems like I'm going to have to wait for an official release after expo or....was recommended that I call a kite dealer to get the reversed (newer)hardware.

I just bought a 2012 142 recoil (which I cant say enough good about!)and am basically all the way out on the track regardless but would like to not have any movement in my boots after a short set.

If the '13 reversed hardware is a bit more secure than the thumb screws I think it's worth it.

Gotta agree with simplej here. O'brien's boards look boring/ugly. Last year's did too. Graphics isn't their thing. That said, I do like the way the Bruce and the Paradigm look, and I bet they'll be awesome to ride. Every O'brien I've ridden has been awesome.

I think their graphics are clean, understated and classy. There's something about simple that says a lot.

They are outdated. I'm all for simple, ronix is simple. But there's something about the obrien bottom graphics that screams late 90's. Maybe it's the way they place the warning label. They don't try and hide it at all.
