Sawing through a wakeboard

I have 3 or 4 broken boards laying around that I want to somehow convert into a chair. They are all cracked across the middle, so I want to cut them so they have clean edges and I can figure out something to do with them.

What kind of saw can you use to cut through a wakeboard. The foam cores are no problem, but the outer shells are extremely hard. Can I use a circular saw with the right blade or will it splinter? Is a hacksaw the best option? Thanks

Circular saw should be fine. Just use some blue masking tape on the area u r Cutting. that should stop it from splintering too bad.

Carbid Jig saw blade cuts glass fine ,there about $10,Go with the "Fine Blade"

Thanks for the recommendations-I ended up just winging it. I taped the area then tried a hacksaw and a normal wood circular saw blade. Both worked just fine and cut through it like butter. I have the pieces cut now, just need to buy some wood and brackets and figure out some way to make a frame.

Let us know how it comes out. I've been thinking aderondak chair would be better than a bench but they seem way more difficult to build.

I just picked up a 2nd board to cut up, so I'll be making 2 at once. Wanted to wait until i moved into my lake place.

I just broke a slingshot board that can't be traded in for a warranty replacement and have been wondering what to do with it. I now have my answer. I've got a cousin that makes these chairs for their store I'll talk to him to see about getting the chair templates if anyone is interested.

Hell yeah. Would save some time if i had a template

I'd think a high speed jig saw with fine tooth blade would keep the splintering to a minimum.

^^^tell him I promise not to sell them to make profit. Just my own use on the patio. I dont have enough patience to build more than 2 lol

Jared that would be awesome! I would definitely take one.

Well coming up with a template is not our expertise. What do you think of the idea of us sending you the precut wood. I think that will be easier than us spending a month trying to make a template on the computer.

if you have some old ski's you could use them for the arm rests

Oh yeah! They have enough lean/slant to them that theyre extremely comfortable. Deep/wide seat and the foot rest is detached so can be moved around. I'll end up painting them white most likely or maybe just stain or poly. Havent decided yet
