I'm looking at getting a few pair of boardshorts for this year. I can't see myself paying 55-60 for a pair of shorts. I am looking for some nice boardshorts for the 25-30 range, but I can't seem to find any. Where do you guys shop?

I too was big on Killer Dana when I first came across them. However, they screwed me not once, but twice! Two separate times I attemped to purchase board shorts from them. Both times they took my payment and then nothing.... I would call them after a week and only then would they tell me "oh yeah, we're out of those shorts. Sorry". WTF??? They couldn't call me and tell me without me having to call them first? Never again will I buy (or try to buy) anything from them.

Instead, give www.boardstop.com a try. Not quite as big of a selection as KD, but a decent selection at good prices. I also like the Mossimo shorts that Target carries. Every bit as good of quality as Quicksilver and others.

Ross has O'Neill, Billabong, Quiksilver shorts also. usually about the $15-20 range.

I agree somewhat with Richard. I tried killerdana a couple times. They have an awesome selection and they didn't take my money without sending anything. But, if you ever try to return something, their return process sucks! It took forever to get my money back and they could never tell me what the status was of my return. I have also ordered shorts from there and then had them email me back a week later saying they were not in stock. At least they didn't take my money first...

I bought quite a few pairs of Volcom boardshorts from whiskeymiltia this summer. They're obviously out of seaeson right now, but I'd assume you'll start seeing them pop up again in the spring.

support your local board shop bra. I love quiksilver shorts. I think I might actually be addict to board shorts though. How many pairs do you guys have? I seem to buy at 4-5 pairs every summer. I have an entire drawer in my dresser dedicated to my collection.

Check the clearance section at your local shop. If they don't have what you want go online.
I think we have a lot of board shorts in the Onsale section on Wakeside. Not sure what is left. They go fast when we lower the price.

I was wondering.
When these things say "Tie Waist"
do they ever actually mean that the tie goes all the way around your waist?
I have a problem w/ suits falling off and had to buy a bathing suit 2-3 sizes bigger than i needed just so i could get the length plus the dang rope around your rear.

Help a frustrated bathingsuit/boardshort buyer :-(

would you guys say the Cire boardshorts sizes fit about true to waist size? Or do they run bigger or smaller?
Old     (innov8)      Join Date: May 2005       02-16-2008, 9:23 AM Reply
I would say they are true to size.

i cant stand people that don't support your local wake shops. i understand you are looking for a deal.... but at the same time you all want to be sponsored by a local shop, ride in shop sponsored contests and get a spot in a pro rider demo.

ask your local shop what they have... whats on sale and support it. us small guys are getting pulverized by these huge online operations that want nothing more than your money.

companies are just as bad.... dumping over stock at ridiculously low prices to their bigger online dealers, giving them advertising on the companies website. when was the last time you saw quicksilver or cwb "advertising" a small local dealer on their "where to find it" page. with a nice colorful logo and link to the $ite.

this industry is itself. one huge online retail marketplace and screw the small guys that made them what they are.

i am in no way bitter... although it may sound that way. i am just saying.... food for thought.

i am sure this will bring defensive critics.... bring it on i guess.

have a great long weekend. adaM

KT, get you some suspenders, brother!

I agree in principal with Adam, but for some folks out if BFE it might not be an option. My personal fav for online is www.swell.com
