ok so iv'e never had a decent video camera i want to get into editing how would one of the go pro cameras be i want to get the HD surf cam also what kind of editing programs should i use to get the highest quality video possible? i want to start posting vids here on WW

I wouldn't do a GoPro as your first. They are a sweet camera but you have no settings, no viewfinder/eyecup and no clue what you are shooting. Also, the sound is horrible.
Get a cheap camera off ebay, and use a free editing program to start. When you realize it takes an hour of time to produce one minute, you may throw the camera and your computer in the woods. When you grasp the process, get a GoPro as a second cam.
I have one I can sell you if you're interested. I just got the HD one and it is stunning. However, I would go mad if it was the only camera I had.

ok well what would be a good starter camera i want to get and HD and i'll pretty much be using it to film wake so i'll want something that i can get a waterproof housing for iv'e been looking at the cannons but i have no idea at all where to start. how much do u want for the gopro?

I actually put my Gopro in a blender tonight to see what an orange sees as it meets the blades. Pretty sick... man I'm bored in the winter :-)
