I want to try it out today. I have a '99 MariStar 210 with the LTR. Is it safe to assume the tach wire going to my PP is what I need to tap the HSE into? Thanks.

Dude, the RVC rocks!!

I'd check with Jim about the wiring. He was able to tell me exactly which wire to tap in to.

Everyone but me I guess....

Mine has not worked to my satisfaction. It will not hold the proper RPM cut point. I have to reset it every time. Lately...I can not even get it to re-program the RPM cut point. I have basically turned it off and stopped using it.

It was an XMas gift for me....

Brant -- sounds to me like the unit may be having some issues with your analog tach signal. I had some similar issues at first and ended up using a tach signal generator in my setup -- it's now working fantastic.

If you haven't already, I'd contact HSE Jim A.) and he will bend over backwards to make sure you're up and running and completely satisfied with the product. For that matter, he'll likely jump on this thread and contact you directly if you're still interested in using it.

Brant,
We've installed quite a few RVC with no issues at all (MC, BU, Centurion, Sanger, Wellcraft, and Rienell) Call Jim and talked to him about your issue, he will adress what he can and if needed will swap you out. I would suggest taking it to a shop with a good rep that has installed these. You are in a perfect area to find more then 1 shop that has installed these before. Talk to Jim he'll get you to a shop he trusts.

Brant, as they said call Jim he'll get you handled faster than you can believe. He actually hunted my info down and called me when I posted a problem (mine) on here but he likely doesn't have your info since it was a gift. He sent me a signal generator asap as I couldn't find a analog signal. I'll PM you his cell.

Jim already shot me an email. The issue might be with the Mercruiser ECM and the noisy tach signal. My PP and regular tach work fine...but I guess the HSE is more sensitive to the quality of the tach signal. I am sure we will get it figured out.... It has just be kind of low on my priority list....
