new vid ('04 footage)

i was bored, so i made a vid. i made it using footage from '04, basically, to try new editing tricks and stuff. lemme know what you think. it's no dpc film, hypoxic film, or wakeboardnebraska film, so it's not going to be as good, nor have the pro-level riding. if you think it sucked, i don't care how bad it sounds, give it to me, and tell me how i can improve.

I'm probably not the best critic, But i thought the video was sweet. I've always like your video editing style... You had some nice clips of women.. You need more of that! hahaha

Nice video Joe. One thing is I think you need to go a little bigger on your back roll, you only have enough time to take a sip of a drink up there not a gulp.

brandon, thanks man. yeah, i do it all on my laptop. not the ideal equipment to use to make vids, but what the heck! specs are; p4, 2.8ghz, 512mb ram, 17" widescreen, using adobe premiere pro to edit. i still need to learn adobe after effects and macromedia flash mx!

lonny, have you tried exporting to windows media using adobe? otherwise, try this tutorial from dpc films. http://www.dpcfilms.com/HowTo/articles/CompressingVideos/index.asp

jonathan, you can get a demo version from adobe's site. otherwise, a full version is about $700. if you're a student, adobe offers a student discount.

Yeah Joe I have a laptop that is a little newer then that and I could get Macromedia Fireworks and Dreamweaver MX from my work if I wanted....hell I think I could even get the full Adobe suite....I might have to try out some video editing this season...although I need a little bit better riders then I have here to make it look half as good as yours! I really need to live where it is sunny year round!!!!!!! right now my yard is all white!!!!

brandon, i've got macromedia studio mx, which has flash, fireworks, freehand and dreamweaver. out of the 4 programs in the suite, i've only used fireworks. like i said earlier, i wanna learn flash!

Hey Joe.. first of all nice vid.. solid riding, and a little eye candy is always nice. I use adobe premiere 6.0...how much do you adjust the speed of the sequences, (like to 80 or 70).. and also.. do you use any filters to help keep it looking clean when you slow it down.. I always have problems with that.. any advice is much appreciated..

i don't have a set speed when i decide to slow down a clip. it all depends really on the music. i usually try to set the speed so that the rider hits the wake on beat, and again on beat when the rider lands. it can be time consuming, but i think it helps the vid flow smoother.
