First boat was ridding in my in-laws sea ray. Got my hooked and I got this 1998 Tige 21i wanted a V drive but this was nice and in my budget.

Next season sold it and got my a Tige 99 21V riders edition

Keeping it from 2-3 more years then upgrading to a RZ4 or RZ2 ( wife wants the RZ4 I and the 2 lol) we will see whats on the market in my price range then.

1978 Hydrasports Playmate 120. This was my dad's first purchase after he graduated from UK. I inherited the boat after it sat in the barn for ~15 years not getting used. My brother-in-law and I fixed it up, learned to ski and wakeboard. Soon I realized I needed more boat.

1999 MasterCraft MariStar 210, my pride and joy for the moment. I've done a lot of work fixing it up and I'm not done. I've realized I need to get some better and more up to date pictures of her.

I hope to purchase an X-25 late next year.

Thanks Robert! I think my midlife crisis has started a bit early!

Traded in a Toyota for a BMW (In that pic as well) and pulled the trigger on a new BU.. Not 40 yet but crisis here I come!

I love your RZ2... We looked at those as they appear to be a surf monster, but the dealer is over an hour away from us which is a deal breaker.

The only thing I did that day was wash it, I didn't even wax it, but thanks... Currently, it looks like hell, I've got the entire interior pulled out, brand new carpet, speakers and ballast plumbing and sacs. Hopefully in a few weeks, it will be done. Here's some pics of the gut.

Diggs, what are your thoughts on the 21 v vs the 22ssv?
Old     (tyler97217)      Join Date: Aug 2004       06-23-2011, 9:45 AM Reply
@SS
Depends how you are using it. Drop me a PM and let me know what you are doing. How many people? Boarding or surfing? Experience? I have a lot of experience with both and love them both. The 21V works better for me, but depending on your use, the 22 could be better.
The 21V is much more agile and an easy boat for weighting. It produces and awesome wake with or without weight. Tons of storage. Tons of ballast configurations that are easy to change.
The 22SSV produces a monster wake, but it can be a bit more sensitive when you add alot of weight or people. It is one of the biggest wakes I have seen, but you will have to have experience with seating people and moving weight around depending on your crew. If you have that experience it is awesome.
Overall, I like having a smaller crew on the boat and just love the 21V, so I generally push that direction, but the 22 is still awesome and has an awesome look on the water with the raked nose. Drop me a PM and we can discuss offline.

I have had the same experience with Tyler in the 22ssv. Wake can be finicky... but it is a monster when weighted. We've had up to 4K ballast plus a few people and it is money.

The 21v has more of a stable, predictable wake from what I hear.

Nice history of boats you got there.

Tyler, there is one thing for certain. I love your taste in gelcoat colors/combinations. I would maybe mix a predominately white one in there a little more often but black is your thing so I understand all the black boats. Super Jealous.
Old     (tyler97217)      Join Date: Aug 2004       06-23-2011, 10:32 AM Reply
Thanks Brett. Once you go black ............... I really want to mix in a tan one with a black stripe, but I am a bit nervous. That one guy that had that 03 SANTE that was a ways back in this thread that was tan and black is one of my favorite looking boats off all time... just a bit nervous to try and order one that way.

The boat is fairly clean. There is a tear in one seat and a couple small slits in the sun deck I will have repaired over the winter. Boat was owned by some pretty wealthy guy who kept it on his out-of-water dock during the summer, and his son mainly used it until he moved, then the owner bought a deck boat. Maintenance was behind and I've fixed a few small things, but overall in good shape. And boy does that LS1 pur.

I wish I had pictures or could even count anymore. My first boat was a 1996 Sugar Mirage Jet boat with the XR 175 Merc. Ran 65 MPH, but was a waste for anything but going fast. Then moved into a new 97 Ski Challenger and after that about 25 different other boats(hobby). Last Year had a 97 Pro Am Skier and this year we will be rolling a 13 Tige RZR.

1999 MasterCraft MariStar 210, my pride and joy for the moment. I've done a lot of work fixing it up and I'm not done. I've realized I need to get some better and more up to date pictures of her.

I hope to purchase an X-25 late next year.
Since this thread keeps popping up, I'll update mine. Getting an X-25 did not pan out and I went a different route.
