501s said it was whiplash that caused concussion. Helmets do not prevent whiplash. They protect against impact. You should wear a neck brace for whiplash. Thats what all the core guys are doing right?

Anyone take into account that helmets float? For example, while sitting in the water, try pushing your head under water forehead first, with and without the helmet on. You'll notice that there's a significant difference. Just another variable to consider if we didn't already have enough.

I took what should've been a "lighter" back edge catch yesterday with my new protec ace wake helmet (which I love btw. fits like a glove); and my head stopped more abruptly than normal on contact. It was definately worse. Still not a believer.

MIT had an egg drop contest from 18 stories high. My money says no helmet and the agg always breaks. some not so well designed helmets and the egg breaks too. which leads to the well designed egg helmet and no breakage. A-dub has a good point. helmets arent mandatory....dont wear one if you think thats better.
