Well, our event lasted for two days and went off without a hitch! We had some great volunteers who made this all happen as well as some donations from some who would liek to remain nameless. However, we thank you for everything that you have helped us with!
Our first day was a day of training, we spent the day being taught, by an organization from Florida, how to teach adaptive waterskiing. These first few phots are of our volunteers. Without them, this wouldnt be. So, THANK YOU!!!!!!
To make a successful and safe adaptive ski clinic we need a boat driver, a safety pinner (release the rope from the boat), and side skiers who will interact with the skier and show them what its all about!

We were lucky enough to have a volunteer bring out his BRAND NEW 2012 nautique 210

We started off with a nice ski around the course of all of our volunteers! What a great group of selfless individuals who come together to make a strong, unified team!

We followed up the show ski ride around with our first participants of the day. We were expecting a bigger turnout but some were jsut not able to make it out. We ended up with three paticipants, the guys came in without having skied before and by the end of the day they were tearing it up out there.

We ahd a Spinal Cord Injury rider, a Polio survivor, and a developmental disorder skiing.
First up was our spinal injury (he has skied before so he was here to learn some more advancement in training, which I was happy to help with)

Next was our Polio survivor, he had only been on the water once and so he had a basic understanding so we started him on a kneeboard and progressed him from there.

He was all smiles!

Next was our developmental disorder rider. He ahs never skied before but his father is our marina master so he has been on the lake a few times. Wow! He was such a joy to teach!! Our side skiers spent some time introducing themselves and really becoming a trusted friend with the skier before we took his life in our hands behind the boat.

The participants had a wonderful time! Our spinal injury rider had progressed his riding into catching air on a wakeboard and starting to try some tricks. Our Polio survivor was doing surface tricks on the kneeboard like he was a pro. So, I hoped in my cage and got in the water with these two guys to give some on water training as well as a good time had by all!!

Set us all up behind the boat and hit the throttle

Such a good time, our chase boat got some great photos! And of course I had to get a good pose in for the ride!

Great post. I've volunteered at an event like this in Columbus. Everyone that got a pull loved it and there were all around great vibes.

There are lots of nice boats owned by people on this forum. A lot of pickering about whose is best. We should all spend less time trash talking on the other brands and more time finding ways to get involved in events like this so more people get a chance to enjoy the sport we love.
