Hi there - need your help. Im a new wakeboarder and looking for a solid boat, yet with a reasonable price tag to get started. Somewhat of an all around "family" boat - kids 10 and 13 will start as well. I am currently looking at 2 options, as follow - based upon your experience, what do you say is the best value and quality? Thanks in advance

2000 MB Sports 210 - 19K - w/tower and trailer
1997 Malibu Response LX - 17,500 - no tower, but has trailer

How many hours are on each of the boats?

I sent you an email!

Jeff - thanks for asking and GREAT point. The Malibu has 267 hrs and not sure about the MB 2100. The add for the MB reads "2000 MB SPORTS BOSS 210 21', PCM 351 engine, , High performance wakeboard/ski boat. Great shape. Low hours. Eddie Bower edition (tan & forest green). Tower, board racks, BOSE speakers, Amp, CD/radio, water sacks & pump. Drystacked".....

Well 267 hours is low for a 97 so thats a plus. I prefer Malibu boats over MB and its really important to know if you have a MB or Malibu dealer in your area

The malibu will have a better wakeboard wake as well as lower hours ..id go BU

ive been behind the old mbs and the wakes were hard to build ,they made better ski boats, chine washed the wake out...

Eddie Bauer edition? isn't that on Explorers and Expeditions not boats?

And yeah, definitely low hours for a 97 (we have 700+hours on our 97 X-Star)

I don't have much experience with the MB, so i favor the BU, but good luck and I'm sure you will make the best decision:-)

Jeff- good call about the dealer, that will make a big diffenerence

If I remember right pre 04 Mb's had a spray pocket on the hull that made a double lip on the wake. Other than that it's a nice boat.

Thank you guys for the great responses. Definitively having a local dealer is a must, which I did not consider at first. I'll let you guys know what I decide - a couple of others things just popped up, so we'll see. Great weekend to all.
