I am considering removing the graphics on my 06 X2 but I'm worried about being able to see where the graphics once were. What will I need to do to blend the gelcoat so that you will never know they were there? I was thinking wet sand and buffing. Any tips on grit or compound to use?

I used Flex Orbital (sp) Mezerna Micro Polish White OC Pad

How long were the graphics on your boat Andrew? Can you tell where they used to be?

Its an 06, the gel shouldnt be that faded yet. The sooner you do it the less of an issue it is. If it is a bit faded use some 3m finesse it, base wax, then polish.

I peeled the graphics off my Prostar 205 after they had been on the black part for like 5 years. The only part that showed was on the stern where it sort of angled up to the sun. The black had faded a bit already but wasn't really obvious till I peeled the decals off. I just hit with an orbital & some 3M Fiberglass Restorer & it was fine.

Not sure what the condition of your hull is, but I removed my graphics from 06 X-45 and updated to 08. No evidence of the old on the hull.

It was on 06 X1, pulled them off 07. No fading boat was black. Peeled off by handed then sprayed on 3M adhesive remover. Didnt need to buff but i had to have it perfect...

what is the best way to remove? Heat? I wouldn't wanna run any razor blades on it.

Contemplating a remove on mine.. cant decid if I want to move to 08 graphics or do a partial wrap like zdecals.com

Mike, I thought I would get them off first and then figure out where to go with it from there. I will probably do one of two things....Just chrome the MasterCraft logo on both sides toward the transom or maybe a half wrap. I really like the "Flying Skull" wrap. Im open to suggestions! Picture of the boat in question is posted below. Thanks!

Aaron, are you saying that I should remove mine? I'm leaning that direction.

Easiest way to remove the graphics is with a hair drier. Just start in a corner and go get an edge up and just gently apply and remove the heat. Don't keep it in one place for two long. As soon as you start to feel it let go than move on and just move the hair drier back and forth. You can use some thinner or mineral spirits to get the glue off after the decal is removed.

I like it with out the x2. All white might get old. A half wrap would be cool. B webb's boat would look clean with out the stickers.

I've used paint thinner. Won't harm gel. Use a credit card and thinner and keep peeling. Hair dryer will help in colder weather. If it's cold, the decal will keep tearing.

Adam, don't let your wife roll you on this one. Yes, I am married, but I do still have my nuts attached. Get the skulls, better yet come home with a matching tatto
