The story was publicly available on the website on March 31st. So, even if it's untrue, technically it cannot be an April Fools Joke.

Acutally, it may have been posted in Russia - which would have already been into the April 1 timeframe. And I did smell vodka on Andrew's breath when I saw him yesterday.

PS. Hoyles rules (section 5.a) says that an April Fool's joke may begin at any time as long as it concludes on April 1.
