Might be a need for further investigation. Email him and ask the appropriate questions. Could also be a typo but at least the guys last name is "Downing" and not "Drowning". :-)

Definitely a scam. I emailed the guy and here was my response... Could this be any more pathetic.

Peace,
Ryan

Hi,

My name is Donald and I'm glad to hear that you are interested about my boat. This boat is in perfect condition without any damaged or other problem. At this time I am out of the country traveling to Austria because my wife is from here and she wanted to be closer to her parents as they are old and very ill,and also we are expecting a baby in a few weeks.I need to sell the boat to raise some cash.
As I am not available to meet you in person I will pay for the shipping costs.
So...I hope to obtain for my boat .. $ 20000
You will receive all the papers and documents(clear title, bills of sale, car's manual) to prove the ownership of the boat. The clear title and the bill of sale will both be signed and they will be shipped together with the boat,so you can become the owner on the spot.
You have nothing to worry about this deal because it will be done in a secure way.

GOD BLESS.....Donald

P.S. I need your correct full name and shipping address in order to contact Escrow and start our deal in case you want to buy my boat.

I'm surprised they even say they are in a different country anymore. Some are getting smarter, i remember I talked to a guy in emails about a 1997 prostar with 200 hours for $8999.

He had his story all correct and everything saying that he live in detroit but then moved to New York and thats where the boat was. Of course in the end he wanted payment sent to nigeria.

Anyone who mentions escrow is a scam artist. They figure if they have a few transactions pending where they screwed the buyer at least a few of them will make it through the system and they will get the money anyway.

That is a Scam. The exact boat is on Ebay right now for like $54K...also the boat is in Knoxville, TN....Not Jacksonville, FL.

Here the link to Ebay:

Tell him you want to look at the boat and take a drive to jax. You dont need him there since its outside but I would never send money.

I noticed there a no hull numbers or plates on the trailer. That's odd.
