hey i have a 1984 ski nautique right now and it puts out a pretty good wake. But i want to add ballast to make it bigger. do yall have any ideas of how to weight a 84 nautique. how about those Launch Side Sacks that go on the side of your engine calan? Also how much weight is too much?

I've got an '86 and I put two 600lb sacks on each side of the engine and one in back, plus 3 or 4 people and the wake can get pretty darn big. But, as I say to everyone who asks this question, you will have to get an Acme 542 prop to handle that kind of weight.

I second Mark. Even with the 542 last year I had 2-600's and I think a 450 in the back and 6 people and I felt that was a little to much. It took the boat a ways to plane out. It was plenty big though....adjust your bags according to the amount of peeps with you.
