This place use to be NHL big? Ducks and Sharks were a fight daily? Meh....

Avs just went top of the Central tonight!!! Wow...crazy turnaround!

So Stanley Cup prediction?

Go Oilers...oh right, forgot. At least there is a big defencemen up for grabs in this years draft.

Shout out to Ryan Smyth who will announce his retirement today. Fan favorite and hero of Edmonton. An everyday hoser if there ever was one.

Playoffs are very tricky in the West.

A week ago i would have said St. Louis but now who knows, I don't consider anyone in the West a true "underdog". Boston is the clear choice in the East.

I'm going to say Dallas vs.Detroit, just so that everyone thinks i'm brilliant.

Seguin basically won me our office pool this year, i'm slated to collect a cool 60 bucks...lol

Enjoyed Ryan Smyths' 2 years with the Avs, all around good cat.

Unfortunately, Ducks won last night....tonight would have been for #1 in the West.

Roy is a shoe in for the Jack Adams

Varlamov a coin flip for Vezina

Mackinnon should win Calder easily

He'll of a run for the Avs...

Avs vs Minny in round 1.

The SJ vs LA & Chicago vs STL...crazy good first round match ups.

That's how I see it going down. I'm on the fence about the Kings Sharks series though. I still think Quick is the best tender in the game. After the Olympics failure, I see him as hungry.

I think Berube has to get at least some consideration for the Adams trophy. The Flyers were a wreck at the start of the season.

Stoked for the playoffs to start. Ducks have been playing well, just need to figure out who will be in goal. Go Ducks!

First 2 days have been AWESOME!

Added bonus, the Avs coming from 2 down to get to OT & then winning it!

Briere in overtime the other night was a madman.

The Flyers kinda self destructed in the 3rd last night. The new kid, Akeson, got a little too fired up. He's a gamer though. He's got speed, skill and sense. I like what I've seen. That double minor was a killer though. I still think (hope) they are gonna win the series though. They need to kill the NY monkey on their back.

Wow, 'Hawks snatch a loss from Victory. Poor decision by Seabrook to blow up Backes....and will probably cost him game 3. Too many penalties for the 'Hawks, need to be more deciplined if they want to get back in this.

That Seabrook hit was gnarly. Backes was clearly rocked.

You gotta love playoff hockey. I don't even care who's playing (ya, right). The games are just that good.

Avs meltdown... Frustrated, which sucks...because they shouldn't have been here. Success breeds expectations.... Ugh, tough night... 4 leads & still lose game 7...

Good for the Blackhawks, the Wild should be tired going into the game tomorrow (i hope).

Headed to MN today, so I'll be watching somewhere that i'm sure i'll be in the minority. However, I suspect we'll be seeing a bunch of this tonight Nick.

Still sort of smarting from the Avs losing.... Having a hard time getting behind another team. Maybe the Kings or 'Hawks...

This Wild v. Blackhawks series is killing me!

Its the "hope" the Wild bring be bringing to a one goal game in the 3rd .... then just farting it away.... hopefully home ice will help, but probably not.
Old     (deuce)      Join Date: Mar 2002       05-06-2014, 12:47 PM Reply
Last night was fun... The Ducks vs Kings series is worth staying up late for, so far.

Last night game me some hope that the Wild can hang in there. Crazy that home ice is making this much of a difference.

Couldn't believe Kane couldn't get his stick on the puck after juking the Wild goalie with approx 6 min left. that would have definitely changed the game a bit. But either way, good win for the Wild.

Agreed! I think home ice will win it for the Blackhawks though.

Apparently home ice means a loss if you play in L.A.

Though no Ducks fan, at this point I'm pulling for them. I'll be in the area later in the month, if they can keep winning, I'm going to go to a game.

Pens better pick it up...

Good run Wild!

.... I really thought they were going to get a goal in that first 2/3 minutes of OT, they had so many shots. Oh well, great series by the Hawks, when they're on I don't know if anyone is beating them.

Crawford saved the day last night. I can't believe how many chances the Wild had that he stopped.

Agree, stinking AWESOME game! I'm in Anaheim for work, watched it at the bar with a bunch of Kings fans....one guy with a Toews jersey.

Can't wait to watch the Habs beat NYR tonight!!!

^^^Oops.

Incredible game. I'm just rooting for for game sevens at this point but, I'll take that game 6 as a series ender. Epic battles the whole time.

Am I the only one that feels like the Kings are never the better team but always win? As a Canes fan, I have no dog in this fight but I feel like the Kings are always trailing and always getting outplayed but somehow they squeak it out every time. First two games of the finals...perfect example. I wish the teams I liked (in any sport) could pull that off.

The Kings get down, but I don't think they're being outplayed. If anything, the outplay and wear down the competition as the game/series progresses.

I don't know if I'd have bet big on the Kings in any series coming through the West, but I assumed they'd beat NYR....said 7, but 6 would not have surprised me at all. Looks like 4 is very possible.
Old     (deuce)      Join Date: Mar 2002       06-10-2014, 10:00 AM Reply
Though King Hank's .892 save percentage(think I have that figured right) is a bit down and the NYR are only being outshot by like 5 shots total.... Quick has been awesome @ .938 and the Kings are putting the puck in the net, averaging 3.67 goals a game.

Best news, looks like Trevor Lewis will be bringing the Cup back to SLC this Summer!

GO AVS!

Congrats to the Kings & their fans! Also to the NYR, great run.

Hopefully I'll get a chance to take the kids to see the Cup when Trevor Lewis brings it to town.

Now 3.5 months of no NHL....

GO AVS!
