my winch runs a little slow. ive had several people tell me to take the governor off of it. i dont know much about engines. can anyone give me some advice on how to do so? or even where it is?
i have a briggs and stratton 1150 engine. its a 7.5 hp motor
Not sure about that specific engine. But most of them have a vane pushed by a fan that's attached to a spring that operates a flap in the carb. You can usually see the spring attached. When the motor is running you can usually use your hand to move the spring and speed up the engine. If so then you can figure out how to detach it.
yea i only have 800 feet. and 600 is the most we pull out. ive done everthing i can think of to make it pull faster. and its still slow. so i think im down to this. ill pull the covers off the the motor and play with it while its running so i can see if i can just adjust it... thanks
