What do you guys think of this thing? Seems like I could just by a plunger and hose fitting and make one myself. Is there an issue with water pressure? I know when I hooked up the hose to my jetski I had to make sure the ski was running first or I would flood the engine. What are the procedures? Would a home made one work?

You betcha that will work, or you could make one. Made my own for $20 years ago. Still going strong. Hardware store stuff.

just hook up a hose inside the boat where the raw water comes in to your transmission.

those work good
just use a tennis ball on the ground end so it will last longer

I also use a rubber matt about 2" thick with a hole cut out to fit over the thru-hull. It makes a better seal also

Do like Clint suggested. You can monitor it from inside the boat, it can't fall off as the boat/trailer shifts around when your climbing in it, and no monkeying around underneath the trailer.

What about pressure? do you turn the hose on full blast or trickle. Maybe somewhere in between.

Bill-
So that contraption screws on to where the raw water goes into the transmission? Any pics of it hooked up? I'm new to this so I'm still working on figuring it all out.

Thanks guys!

Somewhere in between. Check the exhaust exits for a nice water flow with the engine running and your golden.
