Just wondering if anyone has tried using the 3M paint protection film on their boat? I found a place that sells it by the foot in addition to the custom kits for different models of cars. I bought a 9'x12" piece and plan on applying it to the back of the boat just above the swim deck. I'm hoping it will avoid any scratching or gouging from people getting careless while they're putting on their board or skis.

Not exactly 3M.
I used gator grip on my boat for the very thing. It definitely saves a lot of scratches and damage. I am not familiar with the 3M product, but they make excellent stuff.

I've used the 3m on my trailer. Worked great agianst rock chips so I dont see why it wouldnt work for a transom saver. I've used the gator grip on my transom as well and its highly recommended.

Rob I to have used the Clear Protectant for my trailer like KG. FYI "suposedly" its not a 3m product, The backing that the material come on is stuck to is using 3m adhisave tape and this can give the impression that the Clear protectant is a 3m product. 3m does make some clear protectant's films but from what I understand they are not as flexable as the material that people are using on the car's

I was thinking that it would be a good Idea to put some of it on the wear aera's of my boat. I.E on the top deck where you get in and out of the boat. I know there would be a small stop and start line where the materialends was but im guessing it would look better than the scratches

Rob check out clear bra brand . It's thicker hold up better than 3M and can be installed in 1 hour at a shop near you. Started out using the product on nosed of airplanes and progressed to cars. Had it on the front of my car for years and no problem with discolleration. Maintain with formula 303 once a year. Price installed im guessing 300 bucks. Do a clear bra search for dealer.
