My wife's grandparents were first generation Japanese Americans. They lived on Oahu along with many of her great aunts and uncles, when Pearl Harbor was attacked.
In total, there were six of my wife's relatives that were working in the cane fields when the Japanese Zeros flew over the mountain range, across the fields and on to Pearl Harbor.
I had the privilege of interviewing these men on camera. I just wish that I had had an ounce of interviewing skills.
I haven't watched those videos in a long time....I guess it's time to dig them out
