Believe it or not, it was a little cool last weekend in CA and I was wishing I had an air dam in the walk-thru of my Sanger. So it got me to thinking about my next possible project...

But, my Sanger V210 side walls in the walk-thru are padded and upholstered. I was thinking of some channels on the sides near the bottom where there is no upholstery for a 1/2" Corian or similar material board to slide into and some sort of bracket connecting to the window or even just leaning against the window up top.

Anyone tacked this idea with a similar set up? I'm not keen on a snap-on cover for the whole bow.

When my dad had a direct drive he put this blow-up cushion that fit perfectly in there but was wedged enough that it stayed. so maybe you have something already that is inflatable that can fill the gap?

my old chapparral 190 didn't have a air block
I made one from 1/2" plexi glass and a couple of aluminum guide rails and magnets
total price $60

Easy enough, but I'm not keen on screwing guide rails over/through my upholstery sidewalls. Looking for another answer.

This question is all about how much confidence you have in yourself compared to how much your boat is worth. Drilling holes in your boat has bad new written all over it.

Your boat looks very clean, I like! I have the bow cover and love it, I wouldn't have a V210 without one.

A piece of plastic to slide in where the cushions meet? Maybe angled up to meet the walk thru window?

You can see mine on wakesiderides. Not the best picture but you might get the idea. I used plastic guide rails and when it's not in it's hardly noticeable. I prefer it over the bow cover just because I'm not a huge fan of snaps.

Here's mine on a V215, it comes with the rails from the factory so I just used a piece of plexi in there cut it down with a jigsaw and rounded the edges with a belt/disk sander, cost about $35 from OSH. Also heard of people using cutting boards in there cut to size.

What if you made one and put felt or something on the edges and just wedged it in there? Figure the padding gets thicker the further aft you go so it might hold it and the windshield would keep it from flopping forward? We use ours all year long, especially nice for the early evening cruises back to the dock when the sun goes down

Scott,

I like your felt edges idea and wedging in between the cushion. I was thinking of something similar but hadn't thought about the felt. No holes this way Bu Coo!

You can bend plexi, you just have to watch the temp.If you get it too hot it will boil the moisture in it and create bubbles in it.
