im buying this boat next week for 39,000.00 the original owner wanted 40,000.00 the boat looks like it came off the show room floor. it dont have a scratch on it. the only thing that worrys me is that year apparently they had a recall on the oil pump. the guy we are buying the boat from had it replaced & had to have the motor replaced due to it going out .the boat has a warranty on it until 2008. there is 225 hrs on the boat total 200 om the motor. what do you think???????? good deal or what????

You can take it to a dealer and have them do a pre buy inspection if you are worried. It will run you 200ish.

But a boat with a warranty until 08 sounds pretty good to me. How long do you think you will keep the boat is the question you should ask yourself?

I'd be curious as to why the motor went "out" after 25 hours and would like to talk to the people who replaced it.

The warranty should give piece of mind, but you don't want to be hauling in to the shop every other weekend either.

Good luck - I have an '02 MasterCraft with 470 hours and it's been solid.

Before we can say if its a good deal or not we need to know what kind of MasterCraft it is.....

If its an X series, say an x7 then go for it!

40K for a 2002 is high. If it is anything but an X-2 or larger, it is not a good deal. By X-2, I mean X-Star. Even 40k on a 02 Star is a little high IMO.

agree w/ paul. But, still can't really tell anything until we know what boat you're talking about.
