We are in the process of an old school budget build and need some help with a prop. The boat is an 86 Supra Sunsport, with 351 PCM. I am told it's a 1" shaft, LH rotation. Factory is supposedly 13X13. The local dealer says to add weight we should only change to a 13X12 3-blade. I was always under the impression that a 4-blade was the way to go for a wakeboat. Since this is not a cheap proposition so I appreciate your input.

Thanks!
Matt

Large surface area 3blades work better for dd boats, 4 blades for vdrives. You could look at the LH rotation equiv. to the ACME 542(rh rot) which is an awesome prop for the sn2001s with that motor.

acme 12 degree pitch. 3 or 4 blade, I have the 4 blade, lost about 2 mph on the top end, gained another 2 gears down on hole shot. Def worth the trade off. Speed holding is far better too.

Call Eric @ OJ, he was a great help and my OJ props have held up alot better than my Acme's. #800-359-9730 Also see my recent post on 3or 4 blade props, should be helpful.

13X11.5 would work best on your boat for your application. Stick with the 3-blade.

I sell a lot of props and that is what most wakeboarders run in your situation.

Depending on how much weight you plan to add, you might consider a 13 X 11 LC 1".

I was once told by a fellow who works for a well known marine engine company (that makes V8 inboard engines) that the better prop is made by a company that begins with the letter "A".

Ed G, after my experience with the durability of "A" props I have to differ on that opinion.I have a few friends running the OJ CNC machined props and thats why I was willing to give the OJ a try. I havwe to #543 "A" props used 4 sale 3 blade 11.5 x 13 pitch
