Not to cry a sob story, but atleast you didn't blow out your acl, and end your 2007 season. Not mentioning any names (me).

So after getting slammed in the head by your board and only coming out with a minor injury this time, are you going to start wearing a helmet?

Happened to me twice. The second time I ended up with 10 staples in the back of my head. I started out wearing helmets after the accidents, but it gave me more of a headache when I crashed into the water, so I stopped. I just developed a habit of putting my hands around my head any time I fall in the water now.

Unfortunately we have you beat, 26 staples to the back of the head last week at Rollins Lake, Ca. The local doctor said he can't believe how many cases he has been treating this summer. Our victim was an occasional rider who just face planted and came up holding her head. I think it will take a while for me to forget circling back to pick someone up in a pool of blood. Right now I don't think will be going out anytime soon, and I doubt anyone but our immediate family will be riding behind our boat if we go. A helmet would have saved our vacation and some pain.

It's amazing the positions your body can obtain in a simple wake crash...I've been wearing an Ace Wake for going on three seasons now. I cannot say that is has saved me from getting staples or a busted drum...yet, but I can say it has saved me from quite a few bell ringers.

You guys were all lucky but some day your luck will run out.

Shane...I think 4 years of luck is trying to tell you something.

Sparky Jay I am with you...and you can't say it any better by your name....Wake Upppp-----Wear helmets!!!

I seem to be able to cover my head when I eat SH*T. For some reason when the board comes off it seems to be way back there hahaha

Yea dude, you should feel lucky. My friend has like 30 staples in his leg from surgery to fix his acl, mcl, pcl, and meniscus.

I wear Ace Wake but have worn Shred Ready and I know Hyperlite just came out with one this year. I haven't tried it yet. But I also replace my helmet every year in case there are unseen cracks from bad falls that might decrease it's protection.

Ya I've got the new Byerly Hyperlite helmet. It's soo comfy the foam inside is really soft and fits your head real well. This is my first helmet and I don't even notice it anymore.
