I call bs!

Mastercraft boats have way more mill work than that thing.

Plus that thing looks WAY to light to put out any kind of good wake.

You speak the truth tidalwake! Too funny. It took me 10 minutes of scratching to realize it may not be true...give me another 10.

Sweet. Thank goodness they got rid of the graffiti hull graphics and toned down the bling. Looks a little more refined and sophisticated than the '07.

They butchered the graphics. I like the "arrow"ish thing, but that "XStar" is terrible. Just terrible.

Thanks for the pic, Michael. Am I the only one that liked the graffiti?

Anodyne, I agree.
Are the X-Star graphics in the gelcoat or are they a decal? I am going to order an X-Star and would like it without the X-Star logo but would like the "arrow"ish thing done in silver metalflake.

That bow looks so close to the water. I guess its fashionable to turn the bow down but for those of us who traverse big water or wakes its poor functionality.

Tim, I'm hoping for a revision in '09 that will address that limitation. I recognize there is a visibility benefit when towing a rider...but.

Nobody liked the graffiti at first either, but I think it will grow on us just about the time they change it again. I still think it looks better than the "brick Spiderman graphics" on the Malibu.
Tim, its the same bow as before.

Suprisingly, dipping the bow is not a probem at all with the Xstar. No more than any other slammed boat that is. The boat is long, and demands a lot of weight in the rear (like all other big boats) to get the wake right. Also, the two points in the front help the bow to rebound or stay afloat when rollers do approach. Even when the two points do dip, the water still doesn't reach the interior.

Did they add more ballast for 08 because it may actually be an option for my family if i can convince them and i hate how its the most expensive boat its size and hardly has any stock ballast. So, did they add more ballast?

I was on the my friends new 24' saltwater series and we had to watch the bow to keep rollers from larger boats from coming over the front. To me a 24 foot saltwater series should be a little more adept at big water.

Visibility over the bow as never been an issue for me.

I have the X-45 24' boat. I can take on 4 foot rollers all day, but not when fully loaded with ballast.

The boat handles big water very well.

Just because its a saltwater boat doesnt mean big water. Flats boats are made for salt but not open water, bay boats have a little higher sides for bays, thus the name bay boat. MC salt series just means its not going to get eaten up as quick as other non salt series ski/wake boats.
Who rides in huge waves anyway? There is a lot of people that live on brackish rivers and bays along the coast that has plenty of calm water its just salt water. There are plenty of huge fresh water lakes that get just as rough as the ocean as well.

Your are correct Billy, but the need does exist and its not addressed at least for my needs.

I personally would rather not run a 24' pig for a serious session but I am happy someone finally addressed the saltwater issue.

In 4 foot rollers, all day, I will use another boat because I'm not boarding and its not comfortable.

I traverse rougher water and an inlet to my ski area and the water gets nasty. Sometimes I'm trapped between seawalls with 30' to 60' boats running on plane. Sometimes I would like a comfortable run to the local watering hole. I ski in an area with a natural shoreline that adsorbs the big rollers so the water is very calm but the big boats rumble past. Often, with a lesser experienced driver, you get a salt bath.

i'm with josh b, thought the graffiti was sick

I'm a Josh B that completely disagrees and thinks the graffiti looks like doggy doo smeared on the boat.

I like the shape of the new graphics but the lettering could be better imo.

Wasn't the graffiti just a decal on the 07 boats? because it looks as if they're using a very similar gel pattern and just changing what goes farther towad the front...
