I'm curious how the vandal board rides. There are none around to even demo. I would like to pick one up, but a 143 just seems huge. I'm 175 lbs, and that board still seems too long. Are there any riders 'my size' riding this board? Randall is not a big guy is he?

My room mate has one! He is 6'6. Two weeks ago he couldn't edge to save his life. Now he is close to going wake to wake. Its a great board, but Might be a little to big for you. I am 5'11 180 and I thought it was big. Great pop, but its big

Sorry, I don't know how the board rides, but I do know that the more I ride (and better I get), the more I realize that board size does not matter. I'm 6'1" 190lb and have ridden 135 to 142 depending on the year. Could I tell a difference? Yes....but only because my riding got better and I became more aware of each boards characteristics.

By the way, sorry about the long post that didn't really answer your question....I am very bored here at work today!

I have been riding the vandal since the first time out this year. It was a little swirly at first but I got the feel of the board really quick. I couldn't go off the wake at all and get any air. Now I am getting 3 feet in the air. I am 6'6 so the size fits me but I did read about a guy that was smaller than you riding it and he loved the board. It's a great board!

Board size definitely matters. Too much board surface means the board will ride too high in the water for me. Thanks for the help though.

So far, it looks like this is a big-guy board.

Yeah, I would agree with that. I feel alot more comfortable on it than I did with the ricky G which i started with. But I have ridden that since I improved so much with that vandal

J-rod I used to ride the harris 143. Its a great board. Its very fast into the wake and has good pop. I am 5'4 and like 145. I was able to do all my tricks on it. I think the only reason I quit ridding it was cause I am a board hoe. I just can't stay on one board to long. Its a personal problem.

J-rod, aren't you freinds with Kyle. He has that board

I'm amazed Randy still has knees - there is nothing on that board that would help soften landings, and god knows his landings are hard!

As far as the board being too big, I think it's obvioulsy preference. Randy's not a big guy by any means, and he does ok with it. Parks rides a 143 too, so you know it's not so much about size, but if/how you can use it.

Randy absolutely kills it on that board and at 27 mph those landings have to be hard

rANDell is only like 5'7'' to 5'9'' and maybe weighs 170 soaked. I love the board excellerates fast pops like a mug easy to ride and supper fun.
I might go as far as saying it rides smaller than it is next to my G its second in the quiver.

I definitely say it's a big board, but I don't think you need to be big to ride it. I used to ride a 142 byerly and now I ride a 141 Premier and I'm 6'0 and 160. It's just a big, long, fast, hard popping board. The design really isn't anything special, basically the same thing he has been riding since thruster. What you like in a board is going to be the most critical thing... I gotta say, I'm a board sluttt too. I cant go more than a couple months without riding something new and I have yet to find a board that doesn't work for me. It just takes a couple rides to get a new board dialed in.

Try it out man, and let me ride it the next time I see you out. He, he.

I think it sucks sometimes that boards are one size and huge. For me that is huge. Im 5'5" 125# and could not even consider that board. So yeah, I know they are pro models, but I would not mind them making different sizes.
