I know there are some people here have upgraded their alternators to help out with the demands of their stereo's. I'm looking to upgrade my 90 amp alternator to a 140 amp or so. Has anyone done this and how were the results. I'm looking for an pretty easy swap over. The batteries will be fully charged before each use, just looking for the alternator to keep up a little better on those all day lake trips.

Myself and a few other people here have used www.dbelectrical.com I just got mine towards then end of last summer and have had no issues. They sell a 140 Amp marine alternator for $140. Just check out how it mounts and make sure it's the same.

Heres a link to their Ebay store showing the marine alternators they sell.

nubu , I have not had good luck with those $140 alts from dbelectrical. I've had three , each lasted lasted a total of abotu 2 months (Db elec. was very good at warranting them out though.). I've had one of them taken apart by a very reputable shop in Houston and the guy basically said "this is the kind of of stuff you get for $140"

I've had better luck with 90-105 amp alts.

Why do you want to switch? What is happening to yoru electrical system. I'm running 4 amps roughly 2500 RMS and I have no issues with my 90 amp alt (I am running class D, and the PDX amps though)

My DB rocks all day for almost 2 years now. Great alts.

I think Adam is the only customer with bad feedback I have heard from.
