Has anyone used a proximity sensor with an alarm in your boat? Will the movement of the boat on the water set it off when moored? I'm thinking it will not since the sensor is moving at the same rate as the boat. I think it has to be opposing movement of a solid state object.

Here is the alarm I bought - great deal:

Actually my buddy just put one in and set the proximity all the way down and added a "piazzo" (sp) which beeps. Works great!

Movement of the boat in the water should not have any affect on a proximity sensor which uses reflections... but will on a motion sensors.. I have never installed one in a boat but I am sure some one on here has...
