I've recently come across a 2001 Centurion Bowrider that lacks an engine and transmission. I believe it came with the 270hp 5.7L originally, but I'd like something a little bigger. I'm definitely interested in a Black Scorpion motor with a 71C velvet tranny. Anyone have an opinion on which is a better motor to go with and what's a reasonable price for that set-up? Thanks

no motor? what happened to this boat? If i were going to set up a boat I would go with a 383 block using just a mild cam,and world products (dart) heads and use a tune port set up from a 90 to 92 corvette with larger runners, bigger throtle body and proted intake and plentum. Massive torque form the tune port set up at very low rpm. Youll probally be looking around 8k when all said and done. Cheepest way to go would be a carb. But get your wife and her friends out on the boat alone any you get a starting prolbem

Phillip's got the right idea. A black Scorpion will set you back about 9k.
You can build 400 horse for less, but factory stuff runs like factory stuff which can be very good.
