Do this with you back roll and heel 3:

HS FS 180
HS FS Halfacb 180
HS BS 180
HS BS Halfcab 180
TS FS 180
TS FS Halfcab 180
TS BS 180
TS BS Halfcab 180

Congratulations you win!

Actually if you stuck that run you would probably have a good chance to win advanced as well.

ANYONE that can link a SW BS 180, TS BS 180 and SW TS BS 180 belongs in outlaw. They also likely have a LOT more tricks in the bag than a backroll or heel 3.

yea im with dizzle id say thats an advanced expert run even though they are "JUST `180s " :-)

those bs and switch tricks trump a backroll and basic invert all day long when im judging..

Ross, if you already have a backroll and a 3, then I would suggest doing as np3 says and learn another basic invert and possibly HS 3 and ride advanced. You would be holding yourself back if you stay in intermediate IMO. About the only other trick for intermediate would be a BS 180. Push yourself to learn more advanced tricks and you will be happier in the end. Otherwise you will be doing the same run all year long in intermediate or get bumped to advanced anyway.

Man up and ride advanced.
You are allowed a total of two inverts and two spins in intermediate. They may be repeated, but not in the same pass. In no case will you be given credit for more than two inverts and two spins total. A switch HS BS 180 would bump to at least advanced. A TS BS 180 would also bump you. A switch TS BS 180 is at least an Expert trick. A regular HS BS 180 is worth fewer points in intermediate than it is in Advanced-Pro.
A run that would most likely podium at INT U S Championships would have one invert and one spin each way, supplemented with grabbed 180s and grabbed 2 wake jumps. Add a BS 180 and you're golden.
But seriously, if you have inverts spins, and BS 180s you should be riding advanced.

What are peoples feelings on these types of "skills based" divisions, do they add to the sport or is age group stuff better as in IWSF & WWA comps?

I think the skills based divisions are good up until a certain age. An 18 year old just starting out should not have to compete with an 18 year old who has been riding for 7 years. i like the way the INT does it. Some will argue they have too many divisions, but I think it works well.

Ross,

Learn all these 180 variations if you are serious about pursuing competitive riding. These spinning skills will do more for your progression than anything else.
