Help guys,

I am getting a new board this year. I have been riding a watson classic and want to move to the new watson. I can get a 2010 Watson Fly for pretty much the same cost as a 2011 Watson. I can not find any reviews on how the FLY boards did. Liquid force stopped building them because I heard they were expensive to manufacture. Is there something else out there that I dont know about? It would be great to have an even lighter board. Any info here would be greatly appreciated!

You can search on here, but the sentiment is the regular boards are basically better than the FLY boards in every single way. It's cool to own a fly board and it usually comes down to that. Why do you need a lighter board? It won't ride as well in any type of chop and will be less predictable off the wake in sub par conditions, and I honestly can't think of a single upside unless you weight under 100lbs. None of the team guys used the fly boards when the riding meant a paycheck.

I have both and honestly dont really notice a difference except it is pretty sweet when people pull it out of the rear locker and go " Wow this thing is really light !" LOL I am no pro though but thats my oppinion. and the 2011 boards I dont believe changed at all besides graphix.

If you are going with a standard base, might as well go with the 2010 fly. I still prefer the Hybrid over all of them.

The fly is actually a stiffer board so it really is all about what kind of ride you are looking for. I think it is a better idea to go with the regular core 2011 because if you don't slide it then you are going to be eligible for the warranty. Liquid force has pretty awesome customer service so they would probably warranty a 2010 but like mentioned above, they don't make the Fly core anymore so you are going to end up with the original core regardless. And like Justin said, get the hybrid if you can

i have the FLY I love it but I don't think it's really worth it, my mom got it for me for Christmas for a really good deal and again I love it but I think the normal ones are just as good. It doesn't really matter that its light in anyway besides its easier to get out of the water, onto the tower, carry around, etc. it might help moderatly with flips and spins but I doubt enough to make a difference
