What's the safest cleaner to use on my interior? I'm worried that the stuff we currently use could be drying out the vinyl.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

A little spit always does a pretty good job

Starbrite cleaner and a soft nail brush did wonders for my interior.

Simple Green with a nice soft brush, followed by a wet rag rinse, then treat with 303.

Careful with the simple green, i think supra recommends against it. I used to use it till i heard it also is harsh on the threads, maybe dilluted would be ok but i wouldnt use it full strength.

In my MC manual "no simple green" or "armor all" but they do say yes to 303..never tried the product.

I do dilute the simple green, but I've been using it for years w/o any issues at all. I've tried just about everything else and it works best.

Simple Green or 409 diluted works well if your interior needs some serious cleaning, but is alittle rough for theads. For protection, 303 Protected is one of the best. But be careful after using it, its gets slippery.

Use the 303 cleaner. Buy it full strength, dilute it 10:1 for vinyl cleaning. Will not harm threads. It is mainly surfactancts (sp?) that make water wetter. It has some cleaning agents. I use it as a dealer. The 303 protectant also has some cleaning qualities. Works great on insect stains and dye rub-offs.

Simple Green, Purple Power, etc. are degreasers and will mobilize any unattached hydrocarbon. This includes plastics that are in decay stages. That is why they are not recommed for vinyl top coat. Great in the bilge and can be used to clean the hull, but keep it from the vinyl.

Finally, use 303 at least once a month. We use it every other week for new boats. Keeps it looking great and prevents sun fading.

THe key to getting vinyl real clean is using a mild brush to get into the cracks.

I didn't know 303 made a cleaner that was separate from the protectant. I'm going to check that out.

Orange Citrus diluted 50/50 with water works wonders on the vinyl and carpet. It also works great at removing any grease with the use of a soft brush and leaves the boat smelling nice and fresh.

I also use 3M vinyl cleaner to put a little shine in the vinyl and restore some moisture.

My Tige owner's manual specifically states to avoid simple green and to use fantastik or ivory soap.

I use Fantastik as well and follow it up with 303 Protectant like Lance. However I just bought a cleaner appropriately name "awesome" from the 99 cent store which people have raved about but I have yet to try it.

After years of different Vinyl products I used a power washer and had the best results- don't put it full blast though.

I power washed my carpet once and it worked really well. Lots of sand ended up in the bilge that day.

Fantastik is the stuff you want to use. It is recommended by the vinyl manufacturers.

I have a Bissell Little Green that works great on the carpet. I would highly recommend it.

Fantastik with a soft bristle brush then wiped dry with a dry towel. That is the best method by far. Then followed up by 303.

I tried Fantastik and it didn't work very well. I also tried the Orange Citris and it didn't work well either as well as Meguiers vinyl cleaner.

I didn't even know how dirty my vinyl was (lots of dirt embedded in the small nooks and crannys) until I used a soft brush with diluted simple green. While I don't use it every time I go out on the lake, I've found it great for a good deep cleaning once or twice a year. Normally, just a little soap and water for weekly cleaning followed by 303 protectant.

I don't find any reference to Simple Green in my Malibu owners manual, but my boat is six years old also with the original interior. However, if your owners manual says... no, then don't use it. BTW: I've found that Simple Green full strength does a great job of cleaning tires with white lettering. Better than SOS pads.

Get Roll Off. It does a great job and a little goes a long way.
